(12/05/2012) This top is homemade with soft top and hard sides. Looks interesting.
“1961 Jeep (Willys), Unique and hard to find CJ 6, 4 cylinder F-head, 3 speed transmission, 2 wheel-4 wheel high and 4 wheel low transfer case which has been partially rebuilt, various newer steering parts, newer lock-out hubs, newer springs (all), newer windshield wiper motor (driver side, passenger side is manual), newer windshield wipers, body is in rough shape, running gear is in very good condition, the top is homemade metal sides, back and doors (removable) are in good condition-the vinyl top (which is removable via snaps) will need to be replaced, the wiring under the dash has been redone, has newer OEM carb that now needs work and the original carb, 2 complete sets of tires/wheels; 1 set (5) of 7.00-15 Goodyear 6-ply bias-ply in good shape and 1 set (4) of Goodyear Wrangler radials not in good shape, the frame and cross members are all in very good condition. Light duty trailer hitch. AM radio. Master brake cylinder leaks, brake fluid needs to be checked prior to each drive. This is an old Jeep and due to the motor/transmission/gear ratios is not suitable for highway driving; its top speed is about 45 mph but will go about any place or climb about anything. Runs good.
The following items shown in the photos have been removed and do not go with the jeep: the top set of rear lights, gas can carrier (spare tire carrier will remain), CB radio and antenna for the CB, and the tow bar.”

This afternoon I’ll be heading to Tacoma, Wa, for the 5th Annual Northwest FC Get Together. I’ll be heading there right after I rent a jackhammer and break up some concrete, so I think I’ll be in the mood for some relaxation!
I’d planned on doing posts, but got busy with the book. So, updates will go up Sunday along with a report on the FC event.
I didn’t get a chance to mention this, but when I picked up my V6 short block from Daryl, I discovered he had a set of rims I’ve been seeking for years: vintage 10×15 Turbines! We worked out a very fair deal. I’m thrilled!
Since I also have two sets of four Hurricane rims, I plan to sell one set. Below is a picture of what they look like. If you are interested, email me at d@ewiillys.com. The tires on them are still good and hold air, though there is three one one type and one of another kind.
There weren’t many jeeps for sale yesterday, so not many updates today. On another note, I received this JP Magazine update yesterday. The new website’s address is: http://www.Fourwheeler.com/JP-Magazine. After a quick review of the site, it’s easy to see the site has received a major facelift and the JP brand has been suppressed in favor of the Four Wheeler Network brand.
“The JP Magazine website has moved, and we’d also like to welcome you to what we feel is the ultimate site for off-road content on the Web — the Four Wheeler Network.
What is the Four Wheeler Network? A group of six publications, including: JP, FourWheeler, Petersen’s 4Wheel & Off-Road, Off-Road, 4Wheel Drive & Sport Utility, and Mud Life. While the network will carry the FourWheeler banner, JP Magazine and each publication will have its own unique landing page with the same great stories and personalities you’ve come to expect.”
UPDATE: Now listed in Nashville, TN
This scam is back. It was around last summer if I remember correctly.
Anyone know the history behind this? I can’t tell how big it is, but I’m guessing it’s pretty small.
