About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
“Rare opportunity to own a fine piece of history. Ground up restoration of original World War II 1942 Willys MB Jeep. Garaged and used only selectively, including annual Veterans Day parades. Runs and drives great. Details and more photos provided for serious inquiries only please.”
“need to sell 1943 jeep willys.willing to take $1300.00 or best offer.or if you have something you want to trade let me know.jeep is a project car .needs starter and other minor stuff.”
(10/10/2011) This MB has been fixed up quite a bit from the last time it appeared at eWillys at 2008. Unfortunately, it seems I delete that post. So, I’ve included the pic at the very bottom of this page. You’ll note the roll cage, though no longer installed.
“This is a 1942 military jeep. The data plate on the dash shows that in 1952 the military refurbhised it and put a new motor in it.It is street legal, and has a clear blue title. This was my personal toy, and we’ve had alot of work done on this jeep. The motor sounds really good on it. I just got it out of the shop for having a brake job and a pin or something must have come loose in the transmission because it just wouldn’t move. I’ve had three previous willy’s jeeps, I planned on doing a full restoration on this jeep also, but have too many iorns in the fire.”
“1942 Ford GPW Jeep in good condition. Original type 4 cylinder Willys engine and running gear. This is an early, rare WW2 Jeep made by Ford with Ford script on the rear of the body. Garaged for the last 16 years I have owned it.”
(08/24/2011) This looks good. I wonder if there are any docs to back up the ‘four star general’ claim.
“1951 WILLYS ALL ORGINAL MILITARY JEEP….
US ARMY FOUR STAR GENERALS PERSONAL JEEP. 3 SPEED, 4 WHEEL DRIVE, 4 CYLINDER FLATHEAD MOTOR. THIS JEEP HAS BEEN MADE TO RUN GREAT AND LOOKS SHARP USING ONLY ORGINAL ITEMS.
E-MAIL FOR MORE PICTURES AND MORE INFORMATION.”
I had a wonderful day with my kids today. Tomorrow brings a couple meetings and then a drive east as fast as possible in a hopeful attempt to outrun the snow. So, expect updates tomorrow evening, connectivity premitting.
Neither rain, snow, sleet or hail will stop us as Ann and I begin our trek across the US with Long Island and the retrieval of some paintings for my parents as our ultimate goal. Ok, maybe the snow and sleet will slow us a bit, so I hope to see none of either! On Saturday we arrived in Salt Lake for a quick visit with my kids. We begin the trek west on Monday.
As we passed through Idaho on our way to Salt Lake on Saturday we made a quick stop at Josh’s for my first ever chance to drive a GPA! Even though it doesn’t go anywhere just yet, it was still fun to pretend. Josh has plenty of work left to restore this rare vehicle and continues a search for parts. So, if you have or know of any GPA/SEEP parts, please add a comment to this post and let him know! Thanks Josh!
It doesn’t run at the moment. It does have a rear PTO.
