Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. This might have been a civil defense jeep.
“Truck Utility 1/4 Ton 4X4 M38A1 Del – 8/1952 #16453
I drove this jeep, when I got it back home in 1991 down are street and up a hill, 4 wheel drive worked. Later the gas tank started leaking so I parked it in my garage.
I always want a military jeep! I had brought back home a beautiful wall unit with Japanese Soapstone Oriental Carvings on it. I found this jeep in the paper and traded that wall unit. I just have not had the time or money to restore it. I hate to let it go but I could use the money more. I do not want to sell it so only SERIOUS BUYER please.
