Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. I haven’t heard much about the Mercury engines, but the reports are the 1980 versions can produce some pretty good horsepower?

“Willys Jeep about a 1944 year model, I bought this Willys sight unseen not knowing the year to possibly use for parts on another Jeep, I did not know it was a Willys MB (Wartime) Jeep and have decided just to sell to someone maybe needing parts from an actual Wartime used Willys. I “will not” part it out, it must go complete, It is very rough and rusty but has good useable pieces to someone wanting actual WWII military Willys Jeep parts, there is “no title” , and what you see in the pictures is what’s there, the motor is locked but I don’t know if it’s bad, I don’t know the condition of the trans or transfer case, it is being sold “as is, no warranty” the Jeep “will not” roll and all tires are flat, purchaser will need a trailer with a winch or someway to load it themselves.”
Listed as a 1965, This old Texas hunting jeep is a 1972 or later.

“Cross posted. Clean Green title in my name. 1961 Willys truck on a 1985 C-10 short frame with Oldsmobile 350 motor/ 400 transmission. All new front end, lowered 5-1/2” up front 7” in rear, frame C notched. All new Belltech street performance drop shocks. Motor has all new, timing chain@gears, gaskets, valve guide seals, cap@rotor, plugs@wires, Headman headers, motor mounts, water pump, rebuilt Demon carburetor, new aluminum radiator, new taillights, has rare early WO stamped tailgate. PARTS NOT INSTALLED INCLUD new in box painless wiring kit, new carpet, new brake hoses, used 3” exhaust with flow masters, I have motor temporally wired up so you can hear it run. Motor runs fantastic. It is a project that needs finished it will need trailered. $6500”

“This Jeep has a great frame and the axles and suspensions are all there. The body has some good panels around it. A CJ2A windshield comes with it. I should have tires and wheels to put on it. I’m asking $525 for the jeep and parts.”

This imperfect Marx toy seems a good price. Thanks to Tom for sharing. I haven’t seen a steering “box” on a Marx; I suspect it has been added.
