Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “1940’s Willys jeep frame, engine, trans, transfer case, and body. Has tailgate, missing windshield. In good shape tub not rusted out, can still stand on side steps.”

There’s some value here. The engine’s been rebuilt.
“FOR SALE: One Willys CJ-3A that just needs someone to finish it. This unit has the original tailgate, and the dash is almost original. The engine in the frame is a Chevy 4.3 V6 with zero miles on the rebuild. The brakes are new, and has a leaf spring lift with new shackles. The transmission is a T90 attached to a Dana 18 transfer case. The axles are serviced, and have 5:38 gear ratios. The registration is up to date (non-op) and Ca. smog is not needed. $800.00 OBO.”

“1952 willys jeep. Good for parts are restoration. Engine is frozen and tranmition is free. This Jeep has been parked for decades. The licence plate on it is for 1969. The Jeep is complete and original. Price is $700.00. I might consider trading for another car, truck or atv project.”
