UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $2950.
The rear cargo bed appears patched or may just be protected. This may be worth a look.
“1947 CJ2 Reconditioned engine with reground crankshaft, new bearings, new valves, piston rings, seals and gaskets. All new ignition parts. Converted to twelve volts. Invested over a thousand dollars in new parts. Cash price $2.950.”
UPDATE: Eric got a pic of this jeep. He reports, it is a ’48 CJ2a with Chevy 283. Front axle, transmission (original, I think), brakes upgraded or rebuilt about 20 years ago. 12 volt. Not driven in 10 years, outside only 1 year. Will need tires, battery. Very nice man named Greg.

This doesn’t look in good shape. It’s missing a motor.

Thanks to Warren for forwarding this lead. Perhaps it is more accurate to call these mini-jeep trains, but just outside Freeport, Maine, there is a CJ-5 and CJ-7 that still pull tourists in a tourist-trailer around the sand (which I think they call ‘narrated coach tours’). You can learn more about them here. I managed to find a few photos of them on Flickr. It looks like there are two different coaches.
