About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
It might be the carb or a fuel pump. I suspect the problem is cheap to solve. This might have little or no rust.
“1955 Jeep CJ5. 4 cyl “F” head engine, manual transmission and 4 wheel drive. It is mechanically in good condition other than a current carburetor problem that allows it to start but not continue to run. It is currently in storage near Alva. but is priced F.O.B Oklahoma City. Asking $1500, or make offer. 405-833-7217″
The price is a bit high on this project. However, what interests me is that this appears to be a M-38 body, with the exception of a battery box. And, this doesn’t appear to be a replacement body to me.
“1950 Willy’s Jeep CJ – 3A Serial #49445; Runs Great Needs Body Work; 3500.00 or Best Offer.”
Bob spotted this unusually modified MB. The seller believes this was converted by the Greek Army.
“Converted by Greek Army to re-coilest rifle carrier, ammo mounts in tact, 3 out of 4 combat wheels, solid body with surface rust, does not have motor but does have original running gear-motors available. please call- 216-287-3582”

“1948 Jeep Willy’s CJ2A. This jeep has been fully restored around 10 yrs ago. It had 10,000 dollars put into it. It is in extremely good shape and virtually rust free. The paint is still in excellent shape. It has been converted over to 12VDC so as to make it easier to start, especially in cold weather. It has a flathead 4cyl, and runs excellent. The 4 wheel drive works great and shifts smooth. The gear ratio is 5:38. It has been stored indoors. The only trades I am interested in would be a 3/4 to 1 ton 4X4 truck either chevy, gmc, or dodge. Of equal value.
If interested please call Mike at 859-797-3830 or Bill at 859-797-1411 NO CALLS AFTER 9:30PM.”
“Old Army style Jeep. Has plow with hydraulics. Needs carb cleaned and hoses replaced to make run. I bought to use this winter but am not putting the time forth to work on it.”
“THIS IS A FORWARD CONTROL JEEP, 4-WHEEL DRIVE WITH PLOW. I THINK IT IS FROM THE 1960’S. NOT SURE IF IT RUNS. HAS PLENTY OF POTENTIAL TO RESTORE. VERY RARE FIND!!! ALL COMPONENTS ARE THERE. BOUGHT REAL ESTATE AND THIS WAS LEFT IN THE GARAGE. OLD TIMER USED IT TO PLOWTHE LOT. DOES NOT HAVE NOT HAVE A TITLE OR ANY DOCUMENTATION, NO WARRANTEES EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED”
UPDATE: **SOLD** was priced at $2000. This is a no-glove-box slat grille MB.
Dexter forwarded the pics and noted, “This guy sent me lots of pics. It’s an early slat without a glovebox. The engine number is I10885, which puts it in the “no glovebox category.” The 10,885th slat made.”
(12/10/2010) The head is off, but this sure looks solid.
“This jeep is all original. Most of its life has been in eastern washington,so there is very little rust. The engine head is off because of a bad head gasket.”
