About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
Here’s an interesting build. I think the way they handled the grille lights and coloring works pretty well. The side door angles work well also I think.
“”RARE” 1942 FORD JEEP 327 CHEVY MOTOR, 3 SPEED “PANTHER” TRANS. EXCELLENT CONDITION VERY HAR TO FIND!”
“Up for auction is 1946 Willy’s CJ2A #64464. Many years in previous family and believed to be originally purchased in California. Barn storage or desert life much of vehicle’s existence and what little rust around steps came from outside storge last few years not far from southern California beach.
I purchased this 2A as a project to do with my son as I soon planned to start work on my original one owner California ’48 CJ2A(red one in couple of pictures) and was not far from my house. I believe it to have most of it’s original Harvest Tan paint in tact and to be 95% rust free. This 2a underwent a very well done 283 Chevy V8 engine swap in the 60’s that included 11″ brake upgrade and GM steering. The fire wall has been moved rearward 4″ with nice metalwork. Sold with bill of sale. Vehicle does not have windshield, seats or engine. Have seen some restored and complete rolling chassis on ebay as late so maybe a great restorable body can be of help to someone.”
There might be some good parts here. I’m pretty confident it isn’t a CJ-3B.

Brett spotted this great find. It won’t stay in 3 gear (4 speed), but it sure looks like a great price. It appears the interior has been rhino lined, the brakes have been upgraded to power brakes, and it needs a bumper.
“1963 Jeep CJ-5, 307 Chev V8 with headers. Engine runs good. 4 speed transmission that does not want to stay in 3rd gear. Engine has so much power that I don’t miss 3rd at all. Transfer case / 4 wheel drive all work. Brand new steering box. Would pass inspection except needs emergency brake handle / cable, and new windshield. Dana 44 rear, Dana 25 front. If interested please call for additional info / pictures. Thanks”
Bob reports, “Morning David, our show turned out great. We had 13 Jeeps show up, 12 of which were Willys Jeeps. Everything from a 1942 MB to two 1953 CJ3Bs, including mine. It was great to make new friends and catch up with old friends. We had a nice campfire all day long and had a free lunch for all to enjoy. I also want to thank everyone for the generous donations to help offset the cost of renting a port-a-john and buying the food, as well as showing up on a chilly morning.”
I recently made a note about a ‘3rd’ seat that sat between the front seats of an old Willys and that I couldn’t find any information about it on the web. Well, Ron has such a seat in his jeep and shared some pics with us. These appear to be pretty rare, based solely on the fact that I haven’t seen any of these attached to jeeps for sale (that is until I saw one recently). Thanks Ron!
Ron wrote, “You were wondering about the “3rd” seat or center seat on one of your adds. You advised that you had researched and could find nothing about them. I have one of these seats. They were offered by Willys to make the bucket seats into a bench (in theory). They work so-so. Mine came with my Dad’s 1960 Willys CJ-5 jeep, purchased brand new from Dold Auto in El Centro, California (the jeep is mine now). It was apparently an option. The upholstery is shot on mine but they are easy to restore as the base is a single piece of stainless steel formed like a seat. The upholstery slips on like a sock, one for the back and one for the seat. I can still remember the day we brought the jeep home, I was 9 at the time, seem like yesterday.”
