About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
(06/29/2010) This was rebuilt in 1986, but then work stopped(?) when it came time to rebuild the engine (as best as I can figure out). I can’t tell if it runs or not.
“Originally restored / completed in 1986; Been sitting every since with plans of continuing engine projectl; currently has 4 cylinder motor; 3 speed transmission w/ overdrive”
(06/29/2010) The serial number of 130476 suggests this is a 1947 rather than a 1946.
“This is a ONE OF A KIND Vehicle. Its a 1946 CJ-2A Willy Jeep. It is tagged In Delaware as an antique vehicle. The body is handmade wood. It is the perfect vehicle for the beach. V-6 with extra transfer case and extra transmission. Tow bar so it can be towed behind your RV. In and out Locking Hubs. Sucicde Doors . Clear Title. Also log book of all work done and dates from original owner. Selling for a friend. Seller has the right to refuse sale and end auction at any time sitting for sale out side of residence. This is One of a Kind vehicle.”
(05/17/2010) No doubt this is actually a ’45 or earlier.
“I am selling one of my favorite weekend toys! This is listed as a 1946 Ford GPW on the title. Here are some features: Brand new battery, Brand new marine, box speakers, Tires are in great shape, New Fuel Pump, New Fuel Hose, New Air Filter, New Spark Plugs, New Rotor, New Condensor, New Points, New Coil, Oil changed recently and frequently.
Headlights, fog lights, taillights and brakelights all work. Fold flat windshield. Locking front hubs, for the four wheel drive. Two welded in ammo boxes for storage. Electric winch on the front. Great working heater. Tow bar on front bumper. Two metal, removable gas cans on the back. At sometime during its life, the original engine was swapped for a more powerful, classic Ford inline 6 cylinder. It is drivable and has been used by us recently, but could use; Accelerator Pump For The Carb. Alternator . (It runs the best with the choke set at 1/4 on)”
This looks like a good candidate for a restoration project.
“1953 Willy’s truck small block chevy engine, the rest of the drive train is stock including the Warn overdrive. This truck is rust free and very solid, easy resteration. I have owned this truck for a long time and it has spent a good bit of it’s life in a garage. The green paint or what is left of it is original, the interior has been redone, It needs the new master cyclinder to be installed. The transmisssion is growly but still drives and stays in gear.”
“Only 23,000 miles on this nice original Jeep. Stored indoors so very little rust. Metal half cab. New tires, powdercoated wheels including spare. F Head 4 cylinder moter runs great”
If all that is wrong is the fuel pump, then this might be a great deal.
“1951 Willy M-38 Type K Style Jeep and M100 Trailer. This Jeep has ran in the last two years but needs fuel pump replace. Flat Head 4 Willy motor. Would like to sell together. More Pics upon request. $2500 OBO.”
I wonder if there are any pics of this used in the brewery. And, I wonder what they did with it.
“Great condition. Only 20,000 miles. With unique Wilys snowplow. Runs and drives great. Very original. Was used inside of a brewery. Always stored inside.”
“1947 Willy’s Jeep CJ2A It is running. But not driveable! needs work! No title. Asking $600 OBO. E-mail or call 717-515-1991 with any questions. Can send more picture also!”
(06/30/2010) There’s been some body work done to this jeep. For example, it appears there is diamond plating around the gas inlet.
“UP FOR AUCTION, 1953 CJ 3B Willys Jeep, runs good, stock overhead cam 4 cyl, original motor. New soft top, new windshield, lift kit with oversized tires. All gauges work, automatic windhield wipers, new fuel tank.Body straight paint is nice, no rust. Have door for it but they do not match the paint.”
“This is a 1959 Willys CJ3B. I don’t know the history it was a trade for some work. The jeep belongs to a friend of mine this is all he knows about this vehicle. The previous owner purchased the jeep in 1968 and had the body work done and the engine rebuilt at some time. The jeep runs fine and everything works! 4 wheel drive hi and low. I have not checked out the wench to see if it works but will check it out and update you as to my findings. The jeep is located in Hollister CA and needs to be picked up or driven home from here.”
