The tailgate appears to have been cut.

“Testing waters on selling my 1942 Ford GPW, it is a project………. I bought it a little over a year ago and have been stock piling parts since then in preparation for the restoration, I have most parts but still have quite a bit more to go. Its a late ’42– frame is in good condition, tub is in great condition, just rebuilt the transmission and transfercase, has a CJ engine in it now (has low oil pressure) but I have a rebuildable ’42 GPW block to go with it! Lots of extra parts go with it that you could use to trade or sell for the other parts needed to finish her!
Your chance to get a piece of Americana!! WW11 jeeps are getting harder to find, this one is very straight and pretty rust free! Ready for an easy frame off restore!
I dont need to sell it, I’ve just lost steam in the project and am tied down between work and repairing my ’44 GPW………….. would rather see it getting fixed!!”

There are a variety of holes in the windshield, so you’ll want to patch those before driving in the rain.

This looks like a nice truck.

“Custom extended cab, 360 Chrysler crate motor, Roller Rockers, Headers, 727 auto trans with O/D, B&M ProRatchet shifter, 8 3/4 posi rearend, Camero subframe and steering with tilt wheel, Autometer SportComp gauges. The truck handles like a sports car and is fun to drive. Holley carb and MSD ignition. Approx 400 HP. And yes, it is fast !
The headliner and rear compartment need upholstering , and it has some dings in the paint on the fenders from being driven on a gravel road, but overall it looks really good.”

This runs. I wonder if all the shell casings in the driver’s side is included?

“This is a running jeep and can be driven but smokes and has rust on on the floors. It would be a great project and yes it does have a pinkslip , but has not been regesterd in MANY years and doesnt not appear in the DMV system therefore it will not be hard to register.

(05/20/2012) It runs …

“This is a 1948 Willys Jeep, model CJ2A. It does run with a jump start, shift and move, but it does not stop. I put a new fuel pump and a rebuilt carburator on it to get it running. It has no tags, therefore it has no papers. Good for parts. The body is in poor condition. You will need to bring wheels and tires because the wheels on it are already called for.”
