About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
Yeah, it needs some work, but it’s got a nice, old look about it.
this old jeep is complete its been sitting along time…everything worked when it was parked and had $1000.00 worth of front end gears and etc etc done to it…whats it worth….i dont know mutch about it except the 89 year old guy who told me to sell it has had this for many many years”
(08/30/09) What’s this chain drive? There’s no transfercase. I’ve not seen anything like it.
“1947 Willys Jeep. Fold down windshield frame (Has Willys Script) . Has a chain drive set up on transmission. Full time 4 wheel drive. 16″ Wheels. Has custom foolproof brake setup on transmission, instead of on the wheels. Has a rebuilt 1978 Ford 2.3L 4cylander. I dont think it has been fired since rebuild becuase it has no spark. I Believe it needs a new distributer. Has VW radiator with electric fan. Nice swivel bucket seats. Tub is solid. Everything has been reinforced. I bought this from an old master mechanic that did alot of work to it, and then it sat in his garage for many years, without ever being run. No paperwork. DOES NOT RUN! A GREAT PROJECT OR ALOT OF GOOD PARTS!! Needs to be finshed, i have too many other projects. It would be a great hunting rig when running. Better/ Stronger than a fourwheeler, and still small enough to fit on trails. $500 FIRM. No Tire Kickers. Call 882-1505 if intrested”
UPDATE: Price dropped to $3800 and is considered negotiable.
(11/16/09) It needs a little work.
“1948 Willys CJ 2C with a chevy 350 small block. Its been sitting in my garage just takeing up space. Engine runs. Steering gear box needs some adjustments. Have clean title. Asking $3,800 but will negotiate. If interested please email me at serenity0577@yahoo.com.”
“Why buy a gpw, mb or an m38 when your next restoration could be one of the rarest military jeep vehicles that exist. the m677 series jeep was ordered by the navy and marine corp in 1964. there were originally only about 300 ordered. there is now only about 30 or so that exist. of that 30 some are only rusty hulks found in fields by the people who have enough love for the jeep fc that they got out of their car took pictures and recorded the serial number. this auction represents a once in a life time chance to add this truly rare military to jeep your collection. i have seen on some military vehicle blogs that some people have been looking for 10 to 20 years for one of these. ok the truck.. first the body is rust free.”
Quinn sent me some pics and information about his very nice M-38 build. Thanks for sharing!
A Buick V-6 225 bored 30 over powers this 1950 M-38 and is fed by an Edelbrock 500 cfm carb. The drive train includes a T-90, Dana 18 and Warn Overdrive. The front (Dana 25 or 27) and rear Dana 44 are slowed down with 11″ x 2″ drums possibly from a Willys wagon or truck.
Here’s the back end of another Tender spotted by the sharp-eyed Israeli bureau. I don’t know anything specifically about this Truck. The image was posted on the Jalopy Journal (entry #39) along with some Jeep Rod pics.
“Car show quality 1946 Willys Jeep for sale. Very clean 283 Chevy Engine with 4-speed transmission w/OD. Beautiful condition with new paint, tires, seats, and shocks. It also includes an 8,000 lb. winch and 2 soft-tops and many other extras! Will accept offers.”
“This jeep was purchased from the Oakland Army Base in 1953 by my father. Has clear title, I.D. plate attached to the glove box, two extra wheels and tires, gas tanl under drivers seat, f/r suspension has been replaced with factory equip. new carb. The jeep is a 1944 Ford, with a 1941 willys engine, Very good condition NO TRADES.CASH OR PAYPAL ONLY, NO SHIPPING PRICE FIRM,also the jeep was primed for paint in 1956, that accounts for the rust color,”
This might be a good deal. It looks clean and straight.
“Body is in great shape, 3 speed with Ford Pinto engine. It is now a project vehicle, mid project. It ran several years ago and should not need much to run again. Includes the soft top and doors. After a false start it is now back on the market. Higher resolutions of these pictures available upon request. ”
“46 Willy’s. Stock motor, new tires, new fuel pump. Comes with tow bar. It has antique plates that come with it. Fun ride, great in the snow. Used it for hunting and now have no time, it HAS to GO. Needs cosmetics. 2950.00”
“1969 CJ-5 Jeep Dually, 4cyl, 3sp unit with a dana 70 rearend. Jeep originally had a trencher unit mounted to it. The trencher is long gone, sorry. Jeep has low mileage and runs well. New rebuilt carb, recent tires, new battery, new brakes (currently a little spongy, will bleed before auctins end), heater(aftermarket), wiring harness (painless), etc. Not perfect, but a nice driver or property/Town vehicle. It has a clear VT registration and has been on the road recently. Body in very good condition, some small dents, coarse body work and paint. Frame is straight and clean and retains its full side plate reinforcements from the trencher. Drivetrain all sounds and looks good with a few leaks. Motor runs well, but smokes on start up and a little bit when running …”
