The flattie looks to be a M-38, so the year should be 1950 or later. The other I’m guessing to be a M-38a1. It’s a bizarre parking job.

The drive train is good on it though. It dosent have a title. I was gana take the two and make on nice one. And take the rest of the other one and make a trailer for it. “46 CJ-2A Flatfender Jeep. Body is solid with a few dings and dents does have scratches from the trails, motor is solid and was rebuilt a few years ago and is set-up on propane. Transmission is a ford T18 4 speed 6.32 first gear matted to a T18 transfer case. Axles are original units locked in the front welded in the rear front has disc brakes rear are drum, it also has power sterring. Wheels and tires are 34×10.5-15 Swamper LTB’s and in good shape mounted on aluminum wheels. Suspension is YJ springs shackle reversale on front rear standard. Winch is a Warn 8274 and works good with good cable. Seats are descent and four point harness attached to cage, I have had this jeep for around 15 yrs, and it is a cool trail machine don’t let the size fool you she will hang with the best of them on any trail. I have alot of spare parts that will go with it motors axles and trannies and other stuff. There’s got to be at least some value here. That rear almost looks like it has a full floating set up.

(06/08/09) This is an MB mixed with an 80’s Toyota of some type?
“1942 Willys with Toyota running gear (Engine a 22R, 4 speed manual tranny, tranfer case and axles are all out of an ealry 80’s Toyota). Tires are 38 inch Gumbo Monster Mudders Radials, siped with 60-70% tread left. This rig is open front and rear with stock gears and keeps up with fully locked, re-geared rigs. It is a pure mountain machine, its light, very flexy and extremely capable in mud and snow. I would consider selling the jeep for less without the tires but will not sell the tires without the jeep.”

As you can see in the pics below, just taking off the metal and painting it green has done wonders for this old M-38.

(Sept 19, 2009) “Ford GPW, tub off restoration to motor pool specs. I’ve had this jeep for three years and have driven it very little. Date of delivery is Nov. 30, 1942. I have spent a lot of time and money on it but I’m getting too old and just don’t have that much time for it. I’m asking $18,000 OBO. I don’t know how to post pictures so if interested you can come by and see it, email me with questions, or call me and ask questions. It is in lusterless O.D. and Marine Corps markings. It has five combat rims and Ford marked military tires.”

As for the jeep, it turns out to be a pretty stock M-38 that runs. It’s got some rough edges and needs some paint. It’s got the dual battery setup. It could use new seat covers and a new gas tank and a few other items. A professional mechanic has done some work on it and can provide more specific information.
I gotta say I like this jeep. There’s enough old school stuff to make me smile. Check out the battery, the roll cage, the art on the back, the dashboard, the gauges, the gas pedal … I could go on.
The owner of this jeep is 16 year old Trevor, who inherited it from his father. Trevor’s going to make some updates to this jeep, such as adding power steering. He asked for some advice regarding steering so naturally I asked for pictures.
Trevor wrote, “thanks so much for your time and advice! it really means a lot to me cause i wanna get this thing out on the trails like my dad did back in day.”
This has an unusual paint job.
“What we have here is a 1946 willys with a 305 engine in it .. it has dana 44 rear with 488 gears, detroit locker dana 27 488 in front. new suspension shocks and stabelizers. 305 has wiend stealth intake with new edelbrock 600, engine has a sig erson mild cam with headers. The trans and transfer case are Dana t 90 steering is Jeep 1946. Also it has 33×12.50 tires on it .. Its been painted white with purple a few years back so showing some wear but good hunting wagon or just good transportation ..
