About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
“1945 WWII Willys MB in need of complete restoration. Most of the major items are there except for the seats, windshield frame and glass. The body is rusty, but restorable and the engine is frozen, but rebuildable. It is a rolling chassis with aftermarket tires and wheels. $700 OBO For more info email: cdhunter@centurytel.net ”
UPDATE: Either the seller is misinformed or explicitly misleading people, but this isn’t “all original” and I’m mad at myself because I didn’t check it out more carefully! Thanks J.R. for getting me to re-evaluate this one. I should have realized this the moment I saw “12 volt”.
“1944 Willys MB Military Jeep 4×4, flat head 4 cylinder, 12 volt electric system, all new brakes, new carb, equiped with a Thompson Submachine gun holder, air raid siren, original spare tire lock. fun to drive. and all original except carb and alternator. comes with manuals and books for jeep. $8200 obo 1(714) 970-8704”
It starts, but sounds like it hasn’t been driven. The seller has listed a number of specifics so check out the website for more info.
“THE FOLLOWING IS MY STORY WITH THIS VEHICLE: This FC-170 Jeep was purchased three years ago from a neighbor that has since passed away. He was an engineer and this vehicle was his baby, he kept it up-to-date in many respects. He also used it for many years as a working truck and parked it under an overhang and sometimes under a big oak tree. It had a toolbox bed, but I removed it. I bought it with the intent of restoring it, but have I not had the time or the money—my loss may be your gain. Based on all the FC-170s that I have seen for the last couple of years, this one is in good shape. The following is what I have done to it (very little besides admire it and dream of rebuilding it) …”
I included the pic below because it is a good look at how the tranny and transfercase were adapted to work in the FC.
If it needs a couple body panels (due to rust), then I’m not sure I’d describe this as being in great shape, however it looks straight and appears in stock condition.
“1960 Willys Jeep C J 3-B, four cylinder engine. Runs and drives great, 4 X 4. GREAT SHAPE! New gas tank, new tires. The jeep has the original 1/2 hard top on it. It needs a rust panel or two, but still is in good shape. The frame is great, brakes are good, lights work, drives great. Call (859) 893-4346 anytime except on Wed. 7:00pm – 9:00pm.; Sun. 10:00am – 12:00pm”
This jeep could use a serious makeover. But, everything appears to be there.
“1942 Willys MB, Has tow bar and winch. Runs and has a good title. Both ID tags on the frame and firewall and all brass tags are still there. $3500 or best offer. If interested call 530-680-355”
“The jeep has a 304 motor and it runs good. It is on a scout chassis…I have an extra rear axle and extra front axle with it. I also have for sale a hard top and additional parts for the jeep pictures below). Please serious inquiries only, I have this much invested in it…336-364-4579”
This is Nursey. She has a few bumps and rough spots, but might make a nice little run about jeep.
“This little gem has been in our family for about 30 years. Originally bought by my father who had a private hunting ranch in the Northern Colorado mountains. He purchased it to help climb off road and retrieve their game. He was able to drive it everywhere, no matter what the terrain. Because it is white, it acquired the nickname of “Nursey” because it always turned out to be just what the doctor ordered. It proved itself as a real lifesaver over and over. My father became ill and had to move out of Colorado due to the high altitude. He had to sell his ranch and all the toys, that is when I decided I wanted to buy it because I had recently re-located to the NE Plains of Colorado, and I never had as much fun as I had when I was chasing cows in the pasture with it. My husband and I have owned it since 1996. Now it needs restoration. We had the engine completely rebuilt and it only has about 500 miles on it. It has the original engine and drivetrain, and everything works. Runs like a watch, except the motor needs a new water pump…..”
UPDATE: Price dropped to $2000. There’s some good stuff in this rebuild.

“1947 Willys Jeep, runs but needs restored, has a 12 volt system, 50’s hurricane motor, body in good condition, both front seat are new, tow bar, mostly original….$2100 best offer (530) 268-3465”
“1951 flatfender (grey, white, black forest camo paint), 231 buick V6 ( just installed, runs great), 4 speed tranny, 38″ super swampers (95% tread), On-board air: front bumper is an air tank w/ quick disconect to run air tools, locker front and back (not sure what kind, I just know from wheeling it it is locked up), CB & CD radio, Dual fuel tanks, 1978 tandem axle trailer (doesn’t look great, but trailer is very solid. I use it every year to haul jeep, 1 four-wheeler, and 1 motorcycle), I would like to sell these together, but I will sell jeep only (make offer). If I sell the trailer I can’t haul jeep.”
UPDATE 2: I stopped to checked this jeep out on my way home this evening. There are corner post holder holes (it’s too late for me to remember what the correct term is) on the rear corners, so I can’t help think the body is a CJ-2A. Though not perfectly straight, the body appears rust free. I saw no rust underneath along the hat channels either. The Data Plate looks brand new.
The Pacific Northwest 4WD Association’s Summer Convention starts today. I had hoped to go as it is the Carter’s (long time family friends and jeep cohorts) 40th anniversary of their first summer convention back in 1969. I think I was there too, which would make it my 40th anniversary as well, because I think it was a Wandering Willys Club Event if I remember what my father told me correctly, however I was only four, so don’t remember a thing.
There will racing all weekend, including barrels, drags, team relay, obstacle course, cross country course, and something called a side by side (?), but I haven’t figured out what the heck that is. So, if someone could explain that to me, I’d appreciate it. Thanks!
It runs from the today through Sunday at the Straddleline ORV park near Olympia, Washington.
