As I discussed in this post, the original jeep was possibly based on the Austin 7. Here’s a later model Austin, of which I’ve only seen one other for sale in two years. A spare Austin Champ is also available.
“1953 Austin Champ Runs and drives. Mechanically sound and ready for cosmetic restoration this is serial #10515. Does contain the Rolls-Royce engine. For those interested please look at http://www.austinchamp.com/ for more info and specs. Also available for increased $$ is parts spare that is cosmetically better but not running.”

It’s a parts jeep. It’s not worth much.
“1949 willys. ran vehicle as a woods buggy. has a very solid frame and alot of good hard parts. got off a kid with broken leaf springs. i changed rear to cj springs and then engine locked up. driveline all seems to work. have willys jeep chains on crap tires for the back also. was running it in 2wd when it blew up. make me an offer.”
On the heals of yesterday’s GPA, I thought I’d do a brief shout out to the Schwimmwagen. You can read more and see more pics about the Schwimmwagen at Brian’s site. Here’s a pic (below) from July 12 1944 (from Brian’s site as well). Here’s some youtube videos.

“Jeep is in good running condition. No Rust. Accept trade plus cash. Please call Angel

Here’s an early CJ-2A (vin 18024) that appears in very good shape. Lots of pics, but not much of a description.
“Vehicle Condition – Restored Excellent Cond. Distinguishing Features – Org. Rims and Wheels, New Vinyl Top w/Doors. History of Ownership – Unsure. Shipping and Payment – Pick-up Only. Cash, Pay Pal, or Bank Check.”
My sense is that this has some updates to the drive train, but i can’t tell for sure. The seller will take some unusual trades.
“For Sale 46 Willy’s Jeep, Good running Chevy 153 Iron Horse engine. New brakes, shocks, glass, rubber. Front and Rear Lockers, Roll bar, Custom Bikini Top, Hard Top, Easy out Custom Rear Back Seat with Seat Belts, Hitch and Tow Bar. Will let go for $4,000 or $3,500 less wheels and tires.”
Lots of great upgrades on this CJ-3A. It kind of has that classic 80s build. It looks like there are two different paint colors on the body.
“350 4 Bolt Main, Muncie 4-Speed w/Overdrive, 44’s Front & Rear, Detroit Lockers, Floating Axles in Rear, Locking Hubs Front & Rear, Tilt Wheel, Custom Gas Tank, 11″ Brakes with Power Booster, Holly Injection. Post Office Frame Box End, Nothing Original on Jeep.”
“1945 GPW. Faithfully restored and garaged for the past ten years. Runs like a top! Good to excellent condition – needs a left front leaf spring and muffler. Included is a new summer top (in package, value $250). Don’t forget…Memorial Day and the 4th of July are right around the corner!”

“must sell hit me with your best offers/leave number and i will call you back (702-280-9729) must sell this weekend ”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $7000
I like a lot of things about this jeep, but I don’t get the bumpers — those are bumpers, aren’t they? As far as I know, M-38s were stopped in ’52.
