This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “Custom built jeep with Myers snow plow. Only 3438 miles since being built. This jeep has a 1961 CJ5 frame with a 1957 CJ3b body. The engine is custom built from an AMC Matador and is around 300 Horsepower. Headers and dual exhausts with Glass pack mufflers (Sounds GREAT!) The drive train is out of a 1976 jeep CJ 5. It is a 3 speed manual transmission. locking Front hubs, also has power steering and brakes, Dual battery. Comes with tow bar. Will consider offers.”

It needs some work. The seats are odd.
“I am selling my 1948 Willys Jeep cj2a. The engine was rebuilt from ground up about 2 years ago. The fuel tank, body, generator, and radiator need work and it needs new seats. It is in need of a good home who can provide TLC and finish its rebuild. I am starting at $3000 but willing to negotiate for the right person. Please let me know if you are interested in seeing it or have any questions.”

Rick shared this story with me a few days ago. He has promised to send me some ‘before’ pictures.
He wrote, “Hi Dave. I bought a 1948 willys jeep in Montana off Craigslist 2 years ago for $700. Unfortunately, I never got up there to get it, because soon after I bought I was diagnosed with cancer. I am a Captain at the Medford Fire Department; as a surprise to me, my fellow fighters went to montana, brought it back and completely rebuilt it. My wife was in on it too. On December 23rd, 2011, they presented it to me. I was completely surprised! Want to see it?”
Of course I told him I’d love to see it! So, here it is. Thanks for sharing your marvelous story Rick. The jeep looks wonderful. You’ve got some great friends in Medford!

Buz found this CJ-3B. It is supposed to have only 4288 miles.
” One (1) 1957 Willis Jeep. No title restriction. 4,288 actual miles. This vehicle starts and runs. Engine Condition: runs. No known repairs needed.Vehicle was removed from service on 12/04/02. Transmission: manual. Transmission Condition: operable. No known repairs needed. Drivetrain: 4 (four) wheel drive, condition unknown. Exterior: yellow, no cracked glass,minor scratches. Interior: black. Normal damage to seats,dashboard, and floor. No air condition. This vehicle has been kept in a building out of the weather elements since it was removed from service. Vehicle also has a snowplow attached. SOLD “AS IS”.”

This looks in good shape, though the floor carpet makes it hard to evaluate the floor.
“1953 Jeep Willys CJ3B. Great running reliable Jeep willys originally purchased by US Navy for base use as depicted on plaque installed on dash. Not a show quality vehicle but not a rust bucket and no areas needing to be addressed. Original color was orange for naval base use to identify allied vehicles. Used on weekends with my kids for parades, jeep events, and beach trips. It has a great running 4 cylinder with manual transmission .Starts right up every time,no leaks, Has tow bar, 4 Wheel drive works as it should with no mechanical issues whatsoever. Tires installed within last year. Has spare tire not mounted. Hard top can be removed and comes with alternate windshield and glass. Seat covers are like new. Interior has been completely covered in soundproofing to reduce exterior noise. All lights, blinkers, turn signals, radio, work perfectly.
Absolutely nothing wrong with this vehicle just not being used enough to justify keeping. Classic insurance is only 85.00 per year and qualifies for classic QQ tags and registration.”
