No Updates until Thursday morning. Given the SOPA blackout, I’m gonna take advantage of this and finish up a couple other projects.
Happy Blackout All!
UPDATE: Priced now at $3500
(11/23/2011) Needs some brake work. Looks solid.
“Selling my 1946 Willy’s Jeep. In great condition. Needs minor brake work not alot. 289 V8 Engine. Blue. 2 seats in front. Asking $3,500 OBO. Any questions or if interested call Tony at 509-216-3636”
FYI: As of the latest news I have, Craigslist will go black on Wednesday. I will update Tuesday night, but the links will probably not work all of Wednesday. However, I won’t blacken eWillys.
Major sites such as WordPress, Craigslist, Wikipedia, and others will be joining the blackout. I spent some time doing some research tonight, hoping to separate fact from hyperbole regarding the SOPA and PIPA legislation. Based on what I’ve read about the way the legislation has been worded, both of these bills could be seriously misused. Just look at this link to see how Senator Lamar Smith’s own website, the bill’s author, could be taken down permanently, because he has violated copyright law.
Roy sent this Jeeps News’ page. The caption is self explanatory. You can see the jeeps much better if you click on the image below. I think Anderson Township is in Ohio.
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $3200.
This looks good.
“This Willy Jeep is in good condition. It needs a new battery and ignition switch but otherwise it runs great and is mechanically sound. It has a V6 with a rebuilt transmission and transfer case. It comes with two tops; the bikini top in the pictures and a full cover with doors.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $12,500.
“This is an original, 1942 Army Jeep. It was built in April, 1942 and still has the data plates. This jeep is as complete and rust free as you will ever find. This jeep was my daily driver since 1993 and has always been garaged. DMV registration is current.
This jeep comes complete with all five 2-piece rims (no tires), rifle rack and aftermarket canvas top. There are numerous extra parts, including the original carburetor, 6-volt generator and fire extinguisher. The engine block is cracked and needs to be rebuilt or replaced. The original transmission and radiator have been rebuilt. I have all receipts for repairs and parts. This jeep can be restored to museum quality or used as a daily driver. Do not compare this to incomplete, non-working jeeps found outside in yards.”
This comes complete with plaques.
“This 1950 Willys CJ3A Jeep was restored with its original motor, transmission and transfer case. The truck is completely rust free and runs like a champ. The tub and interior received a special “black out” treatment, and a custom sound system was fitted into a custom overhead console…just plug in your iPod and hit the trail! The truck has its original seats (re-covered) and original, fully rebuilt flathead motor! 4×4 system works like new. Newer BF Goodrich all terrain tires and wheels. The body is incredibly straight, floor boards, body and frame are all rust free. Original Colorado Two owner truck! All gauges, lights and buttons work like they should…check out the video below! Dont miss out, own this rare jeep at a fraction of the build cost!”
