About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
“A great weekend project. Just in time for Christmas. Plenty of parts available online. The data plate on the firewall says it is a CJ 2A production #49534 or 84. It does not run currently. It needs care, but multiple mechanics have told me that the frame is in good shape. I have owned it for over 15 years. There is no title for it. Buyer is responsible for arranging and paying for transport. It is being sold as-is.”
“1944 WW2 Willys MZ1 Jeep for sale. This Jeep was originally made as a Radio Jeep for the Navy/USMC during World War 2. After it’s military career this Jeep was sold as surplus and was used as a ranch and hunting Jeep on a ranch in Northern California until recently. After research and consulting with WW2 Jeep collectors the features found that lead us to believe this is a 1944 MZ1 are listed below.
1. The Jeep Body has the access in the transmission hump between the front seats for the generator, there is signs of antenna by driver’s crash pad, and a hole in the bottom of the glove box. The body number is 4161, which is consistent with a mid 1944 MZ1. The Body has the MB style cowl gussets, round toolbox latch indentions, trailer socket hole and gas can holder strengthening. No Data plates are present.
2. The Frame is a MB frame and no frame tag is present however there are bolt holes instead of rivets between the bumperette mounting holes, which indicate lifting rings were present at some time. There is also signs that a spare tire foot brace was used on this Jeep.
3. The engine number is # 352454, which is consistent with a mid 1944 Jeep.
The Jeep starts, stops, and drives however it needs to be restored. We did have the front frame horns, front bumper gussets and new bumper installed. Starter, and fuel pump were refurbished and a new battery installed. This is sold as a parts vehicle with bill of sale only. It is not road worthy and needs to be loaded onto a trailer. I have taken photos and a walk around video. The Jeep is sold as is, please contact me if you have any questions or would like additional photos.”

“this is an excellent project jeep that can easily be back on the road by the spring, all it needs is the right person. It is complete with lots of new parts, i had the engine running the other week, all the gauges worked for me. the big thing this jeep would need is the clutch disassembled and cleaned, not hard as they are a fairly small drive line. this is also a fairly rare jeep as only about 2000 were built in 45 making this one of the few survivors. however it does not come with a hard top in the picture as that in not for sale”
(09/05/2011) There is some work left in this project.

UPDATE: Back in May of 2011 Mike forwarded me the below ad. This morning Craig pointed out that Dan over at Hemmings did a nice article about the stainless bodies along with the seller of these kits.
The buyer apparently bought out a stainless supplier in the Philippines. Call the seller for more info.
