UPDATE:  Lester reports this *might* be a scam, as 936 is a Texas area code rather than a Iowa code. Of course, cell numbers are so portable, of which I’m a perfect example (I have a cali area code), that it’s not a definitive sign.

No pics.  The seller will text a pic. I’m gonna guess this is either a MB/GPW or CJ-2A.

This was supposed to be published last night (sat night) …. but somehow I never hit the “publish” button.  It just goes to show you that it REALLY WAS one of those kind of nights ….

It just seems like one of those type of nights, so I’m going to save updates for the morning.

See, not only did I manage to lose my 3 month old phone tonight (by placing it on my car and driving off), but then I wrote an amusing story about it, only to have the post disappear when I published it.  I think it is time for a beer …  Night all!

Anyone Recognize this 1962 6×6?

Rudolf emailed me from Bali yesterday. He’d spotted this Jeep advertised for sale as a 1962 6×6 Willys Jeep.  He wondered if this was a custom project or the real deal.  My guess was that this is a one-off custom project, especially since it has a number of civilian elements. Apparently, the seller swears this was in the war (which war?).  Unfortunately, the seller has yet to respond to additional questions.  Also, below is the only pic provided.

Note the unusual front hubs.  I’ve never seen a 6×6 quite like this.  Is this possibly some oddball created by a Willys licensed manufacturer?
