UPDATE: Steve found a 2nd patent for an alternative Dually system. I’ve moved both Dually patent information to the New Dually Page.
A Roberto Flores Illustration
Roberto Flores has an older illustration he’d like to share with us (thanks!). I managed to find a self-taken snapshot of myself, a handsome lad (well, that’s what mom always said) of 21 years, in a similar situation. I knew approximately where I was (in southeastern washington), but didn’t know exactly where I was, even with the help of the map and signs (pomerey, shown on the sign at the bottom, isn’t exactly a big town). So, I just tried driving with the early morning sun to my left so that I’d be heading south. Truth be told, I love being lost 🙂
Here’s Roberto’s drawing.
Here’s me, circa early November, 1985:
1953 CJ-3B Portland, OR **SOLD**
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $2000.
It runs. It drives. It looks like a deal to me!
“53 Willys CJ3B Runs and drives. This was sitting for a long time in Calif. before I acquired it. Rebuilt carb, fuel tank, and started. It needs lots of work, but should make a fun rig on the farm or for hunting. asking $2000.00 but offers considered.”
Year? CJ-2A Harrington, Wa $500
Here’s a parts CJ.
“Late 40’s Willys Jeep, complete with all original running gear. Motor and transmission stuck, needs new front floor boards. No rust in the back portion. Original 16″ wheels are included. Use for parts or restoration project. $500obo, or trade for guns? 509-721-0942”
1963 Wagon Myrtle Beach, SC **SOLD**
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay.
There’s plenty of work left on this, but some nice attributes.
“This Willys was being restored by the previous owner, he had a V-8 rebuilt and installed (327 ci. I think)(no I cant see the #s on the block) painted it, and installed some aftermarket seats. The trans was out being rebuilt, and was stolen. The owner lost interest and parked it for years, and then decided to sell it. I purchased it with the intention of a full restoration, but a week later another one came up for sale I had previously tried to buy, so now I have 2 of them. I found a rebuilt trans, that also came with a transfer case. (they are not hooked together or installed) This willys also has a PTO winch with the shafts, but I was not willing to pay for the pto case that hooks to the transfer case, so that is missing, you can remove the winch and sell it, or the case sells for $250.00 to $300.00. I have not gone through all the boxes of parts (as nothing was reinstalled after painting) but the parts may or may not all be there. And the glass needs to be put back in, all the rubber appears to be good. The paint job is okay, but I was going to change the color while it was stripped down, as the repaint has some chips and scratches. The dribe shafts have just been gone through and have new u-joints. The motor is not locked, as I can turn the crank and get movement and has good compression.”
1959 CJ-3B San Diego, Ca $2500
The price looks great on this. That said, many people don’t know that these were used during the war of 1959, a little known war pitting the Federalists vs. the Occupationists …
“
This is a very cool Vintage Willy’s Jeep. These were used during the war. Willing to consider a trade for a motorcycle (NO dirt bikes, street legal only please!). Contact me more complete details on the Willy’s. It does need some TLC and general clean-up since it has not been driven much. Carburator and brakes need work, tires and body are in good condition.”
1951 M-38 Providence, RI $3500
UPDATE: Price increased to $3500
This looks in great shape. It might be a good price if it runs well.
“1951 Willys Jeep, M38. Partially restored. Runs good. Ideal for farm, large estate or island. Asking $3,000. Call 401-651-1648”
1947 CJ-2A Spokane Valley, Wa **SOLD**
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $3000
(04/20/2010) Dan spotted this jeep.
“1947 Jeep Willys 4×4…. All Chevy running gear….Including a 4.3 V6 with aluminum intake, 700r4, power steering, tilt wheel, and power disc brakes…. All gauges, head lights, tail lights, and blinkers work great…. It has really nice seats in it…. It has really great floors in it…. This Willys was used for the back roads, so it is not registered….If you want to drive it on the highway (it does great on the road) it would need to be inspected by the DOL….its easier than you think….I will let it go for 3k with out the new 32×11.50×15 BFG muds (they still have the nipples on them) or 4k with them”

im selling this cheap because its an ongoing project and its not without its share of problems. It has come a long way since i bought it and up until recently its been a badass wheeler, but its time for me to part with it. The motor is the main problem at this point it just wont dial in. If i were to keep it i would put a different motor in it. It starts but just doesnt run right, distributor/timing isnt jiving which causes it to overheat and it has a moderate miss. I want to sell it whole but will consider parting out, i would have to sell the axles in a pair Or trans and transfer in 1 before I sell everything else.. after one of those two are gone everything is up for sale.”
