This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. It looks good from a distance. Not a 1951.
“I restored this 1951 Willys Military Jeep with M100 trailer to original condition. Many new parts; brakes, wheels, shocks, exhaust, glass, canvas, seats, new rebuilt engine, transmission, differential, paint, electrical, lights, fording equipment, etc. The jeep is registered and has a clear title. I won a trophy for the class at a local car show this past fall. I would like to sell the jeep and trailer as one unit for $19,900.”

(01/06/2010) “This is a rare 6 cylinder 1949 Willys Jeepster. The Jeepsters were constructed only from 1948 to 1950 and only made a limited number of the 6 cylinders starting in mid 1949. This particular car has been featured in an article in Open Road Magazine. The engine has recently been rebuilt and the rest of the car is almost fully restored. This car is a head turner. I can’t tell you the number of times someone has come up to me and asked what kind of a car this is and that they think it is one of the best looking cars on the road.”

(12/09/09) It seems like there is something funky about that steering wheel, but I’m not sure what it is. The steps are missing and the back appears patched. It looks rust free.

If you like maps and history of the US, you’ll likely find this STATISTICAL ATLAS
OF THE NINTH CENSUS (1870) fascinating. Even better, all the maps are available in 300 dpi (a 256mb download)! It’s fun, in map-geek way, to see what cities were listed and which were left out (Ex … Olympia Wa shown, Seattle Wa not)
Below are a couple map examples. Click on the map to get a higher resolution version. The first map shows a mapping of the woodlands. At least in the western half of the US, with which I’m most familiar, I think that’s a pretty accurate assessment of how the woodlands appear today (though the trees are likely newer and shorter).
