This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. (09/15/09) The bottom is CJ-2A and the top is mid 70s mail carrier.

A reader emailed these pics today. There’s a variety of creative ideas on a jeep that’s been thoroughly rebuilt. My personal favorite is the spring plate solution, seen on this first pic. The images span a range of vehicles likely trapped in their final resting place. Of course, there are a few jeeps sprinkled about his photographs.

“1953 M38A1 4×4 jeep. Runs and drives. Rebuilt transmition and transfer case, 24 volt ignition system. This jeep is mostly original and would make a good restoration project as it has all original components in good shape with a solid frame and very restorable body. All parts for restoration are still available for this jeep.”
