Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “Selling my willy’s Jeep – GREAT HUNTING RIG! Tow bar mounted to new front bumper assembly. Very good condition, would not take much to finish a complete restoration. Have clean title on hand. New upholstery and very clean throughout. This jeep has 90% of its original parts, original engine converted to 12 volt. Runs good, smokes a little. All running gear works good, the T-90 transmission DOES NOT slip out of second gear which is common for these jeeps. Very little rust for its age. Steps still will hold weight. No holes in floor boards. Great jeep to drive now or to continue to restore. All lights work including dash lights. INCLUDED: another full complete engine and another long-block to use as a core as well, 2 extra fenders, 1 extra hood, another windshield assembly and 4 more tires/rims.”

It doesn’t run, but it looks in reasonable shape.
“This jeep needs total restoration. we are asking just what we have invested in the engine rebuild and new tires. original manual and about 20 other manuals with new gas cans and containers rough condition outside, only has about 400 miles on rebuilt engine 2.2L, Red with hardtop, 1960 CJ5 Willys Jeep doesn’t run currently needs carburator rebuilt using either the old or new one, have lots of extras, all original paperwork, reciepts for engine and new tires.”

The flattie looks to be a M-38, so the year should be 1950 or later. The other I’m guessing to be a M-38a1. It’s a bizarre parking job.
“The red jeep ran when i got it 5yrs ago. The drive train worked good too. It has a title. The yellow jeep has the motor taken out of it and is in the back of it same with the front clip. The drive train is good on it though. It dosent have a title. I was gana take the two and make on nice one. And take the rest of the other one and make a trailer for it. This jeep runs on propane. It’s got some good mods too.
“46 CJ-2A Flatfender Jeep. Body is solid with a few dings and dents does have scratches from the trails, motor is solid and was rebuilt a few years ago and is set-up on propane. Transmission is a ford T18 4 speed 6.32 first gear matted to a T18 transfer case. Axles are original units locked in the front welded in the rear front has disc brakes rear are drum, it also has power sterring. Wheels and tires are 34×10.5-15 Swamper LTB’s and in good shape mounted on aluminum wheels. Suspension is YJ springs shackle reversale on front rear standard. Winch is a Warn 8274 and works good with good cable. Seats are descent and four point harness attached to cage, I have had this jeep for around 15 yrs, and it is a cool trail machine don’t let the size fool you she will hang with the best of them on any trail. I have alot of spare parts that will go with it motors axles and trannies and other stuff. There’s got to be at least some value here. That rear almost looks like it has a full floating set up.
This was my 4×4 project until I got sick. It has a REAL strong 4 speed, chev 6 that runs, Dana front end and rear end. It just has no wiring right now, but it is a great project or parts vehicle. (06/08/09) This is an MB mixed with an 80’s Toyota of some type?
“1942 Willys with Toyota running gear (Engine a 22R, 4 speed manual tranny, tranfer case and axles are all out of an ealry 80’s Toyota). Tires are 38 inch Gumbo Monster Mudders Radials, siped with 60-70% tread left. This rig is open front and rear with stock gears and keeps up with fully locked, re-geared rigs. It is a pure mountain machine, its light, very flexy and extremely capable in mud and snow. I would consider selling the jeep for less without the tires but will not sell the tires without the jeep.”
