About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
“Has 350 chevy, th350 trans. Needs a few things finished to be drivable. $2500. Possible trades. Comes with new winshields, clean title, western plow pump, and home built plow blade”
“Selling the 1946 CJ2-A I bought for hunting last fall! Purchased with big dreams and aspirations for it but, they came up short. Unfortunately this is awful to house 5 people to beat around in the sticks. It runs like a dream and, is super fun to drive. It looks like it’s 75 years old but, is sound and has lots of miles left in it. I had it rewired and tuned last October at D&B auto by, Don Massey. I had he tires and rims put on right after I bought. I’m 6k into rims, tires and, wiring. I bought it for 5k. I feel like 10,000.00 is a pretty fair asking price. Comes with the original Top as seen in the pictures or, feel the wind whip Your hair when you pop the top and put the original half Willy’s windshield on”
“1959 Willys Jeep CJ-3B. Runs and stops great, drives well. New brakes all around, including new master and wheel cylinders. New seats. Front axle rebuilt with all new bearings and seals. All new glass in windshield and steel hardtop; all windows roll up/down or slide as they should. Very little surface rust. The only cancer is in the vertical seam in the rocker right under the driver side door and it is very minor. F134 engine with Carter YF carburetor. T90 transmission, twin stick Dana 18 transfer case, Dana 44 rear and Dana 25 front axles. Like new tires. I’m selling this for my dad, who does not use Facebook. It is located near Ignacio, CO. $6500 obo. This is a very nice, reliable flatfender that can be used as is or would take very little work to bring it to the next level”
The seller notes this is a 2A Chassis with a 1953 3B body, but the body is actually a later 3B body. This package also includes another 2A chassis.
“1948/53B CJ2A with a 53B body. Was running before starting restoration. No canvas but has door panels and bow parts for top. Original shop manual and options book. Has new front floor pans and braces in box. 1948 Willys CJ2a frame with front and rear axles. Has all new leaf springs, bushings, shackles, shocks and wheel cylinders. Frame was blasted and painted in 2001 and was stored inside until 2016. Asking $3500 cash for both”
This December 06, 1958, article in the Tulare Advance Register highlights the Tulare County Four-Wheel Drive Club with pics and text. It’s not a club that I recognize, but the club was pivotal to the formation of the California Association of Jeeps Clubs in 1959 (later known as the California Four Wheel Drive Association). I tried to find a club logo or sticker, but couldn’t locate any example.
Here’s the 1958 article (spliced for easier viewing):
“It’s time to sell my 1948 Willy’s CJ2a Jeep. Price is $14,000. Facebook won’t allow my price. I’ve owned this Jeep for about 4 years and have had a great time with it. It’s now time for someone else to enjoy.
I’ve driven this Jeep around many back roads of New Jersey sometimes putting upwards of about 150 to 200 miles on it in a weekend. It always starts and runs like a champ. Got into it in the middle of May after its long winters nap and after a couple of pumps on the accelerator pedal and a few seconds cranking the engine it sprang to life! It was restored when I purchased it but the former seller left it outside under a cover for about a year. Continue reading →
“Hi I have a 1948 Willys jeepster for sale selling because I don’t drive it much. Starts and drives well for its age.it is a 3 speed on the column. It has been restored asking 11,000 obo”
“$6000 OBO. Runs, drives, stops great. Tuxedo Mark 4, very rare. 4×4, v6, 3 speed. All original, except for brake lights, but I still have the originals. Frame is solid, no issues. Original owners manual and keys. Includes original hard top and doors. 5 new tires. All electrical except brake light switch works. Brand new gas tank. Leave as is, or restore; it’s turn key ready. Battery is less than a year old. Has original working AM radio and original factory installed, working heat”
This appears to have a replacement body, as it’s a mix of M-38 and MB styles. Also, it shouldn’t have full-floaters (though I think there are a useful add).
