This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. This might be an interesting find.
“Very Rare first year production 1945 Willys CJ2A 3 speed column shift, floating rear axels, belt gearbox, flathead 4 cylinder still 6 volt system with snowplow. Runs good and everything works.”
Listed as a 1947, this is a VEC 1946 with three data plates and square windshield bold holder bolts. I will be dropping by Scotts Valley in a week or a half or so.

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $8500.
Not a column shift at the moment, but seller has the parts to turn it back.
“Early 1946 cj2a Willy’s in very good shape has had a partial restoration a few years ago. Some of the work includes painted, seat covers, new top, new transmission to make it a 3 speed on the floor but have all part to return it back to 3 on the collom, also new gas tank, brakes and wheel cylinders. Original go devil engine in great working order.”
The windshield has the square washer washers. It could use some glass, too.

UPDATE: Price dropped to $4990
(08/03/2012) “A rare vehicle. First year the civilian jeep was made with less than 150 miles since overhaul of engine, transmission, and transfer case. Less than 100 miles on a new overdrive. Included but not installed is a system to operate engine by creating gas from burning wood chips (producer gas generator). Seats in great condition, new tires, pretty clean considering its age. Make offer, motivated seller. Runs great.”

This jeep appears to have the same model of hub as the picture below which I found in 2010. Anyone know what it is?

This runs and drives. It is a column shift and three data tags, so might be a VEC.

Listed as a 1949, this has tool indents and three data plates. It kind of looks like it might have been a column shift at some point.
