This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. Serial number 512. It’s a very VEC.
“45′ Cj-2a Very early production! Serial number 512. Jeep if pretty complete, runs, and a great restoration candidate. This is the most collectible model with tool indents and full floater rear axle. Has full set of original data plates on the dash.
Very nice front gussetts and original bumper.”

It’s rough, but there’s lot of parts there for an VEC rebuild.
“1946 Willys CJ-2a Column shift jeep…. Serial #12172 makes it the 2172 jeep off the assembly line. Rare Early features like drivers side tool indents and full floating rear axle..
Data plates are intact and nice shape! Frame and front bumper is overall good, but the body is pretty bad.
Original square rivet windshield.
Floor shift transmission, but I am including the correct side shift case! Engine runs, need to check the serial #
Great candidate for full restoration, as these VEP column shift jeeps are hard to find, and very collectible!

UPDATE: Pics now provided. This VEC has the column shift, but not the tool indents. It doesn’t run currently. Obviously, the top doesn’t work with that windshield.
“Original Willys CJ2A Column Shift VEC. Split windshield, matching numbers all the way around. 3 speed Column shift intact and operating. Rebuilt Carb, New fuel lines and fuel tank (needs new fuel pump).New brakes for all the way around (un-installed). Everything from the master cylinder to the drums, and everything in between. Also comes with an aluminum Artic Top with windshield and doors all glass intact. I just don’t have the time I need to do this Ole Girl right. This looks to have a VEC tub. I don’t see any other signs though.

This has three data plates and the long oval steering column cutout. It also might have had tool indents at one time.

(08/20/2013) It has a Warn OD, but the steering isn’t original. I can’t tell if it has a column shift. It’s worth a look.

“1946 willys jeep cj2a runs good shifts good 4 wheel drive works good is registered I use it for hunting and fishing and around the property take it to the store once in a while .its rough but works good used it for deer season this year has new tubes in the tires.”

This is a column shift with at least one small tag.
“I am listing my 1946 Willys Civilian Jeep. I has a good running 4 cylinder engine. It also comes equipped with a metal cab with doors and windows that open. This top is factory made and does a good job of keeping the weather out. The jeep also includes a tow bar for transporting it back and forth to deer camp. This is probably a 35 to 45 mph vehicle. It is not rusted out and has good tires. It has been partially converted over to 12 volts but the job needs to be completed before it can be driven for everyday use. located about a mile from the 326 exit off I 75. Can be seen most anytime.”
