This is an unusual item. Check out the adapter added to the rear of the intermediate transfercase shaft. Anyone recognize what that is? Also, if the engine really is cast aluminum, than this is a good deal all around. The seller also has a 1946 CJ-2A for sale ($9000), but I didn’t see an ad for it.

The serial number suggests this is a 1945, but it should have full floaters.

This is the first civilian production run of the famous CJ Jeep. The Jeep is a very low production number. The Jeep has a Buick V6 Dauntless motor (runs), dual exhaust, dual fuel tanks, headers, neat spare tire carrier, Dualmatic front hubs, Chevy tilt steering wheel. Jeep sold with a T90 transmission, but does not have a transfer case. The transmission and transfer case was pulled by the previous owner. This wouldn’t take much to get back on the trail. I have the original title and every repair receipt that was ever done to this jeep. This rig would be great for a full restoration, a vintage rock crawler, hunting rig, trail jeep, or summer grocery getter.”

Listed as a 1947, this may be a VEC CJ-2A. The hood has been louvered.

This has an early 2A tag. Unclear how much early 2A is still here, but it does have an early windshield.

Frame is solid! Dana 25 front and Dana 41 rear axles both spin, along with drive shafts. Transfer case shifts (front axle can engage), but needs a rebuild. Original engine seized, transmission doesn’t shift.

Frame was modified for an attachment like a plow at some point.

(04/08/2021) This seems to be a pretty stock VEC, which is why the lack of bow holders surprises me. This is one of several CJ-2As that makes me wonder if it was possible to get a CJ-2A without bow holders on the side.

Has all body & frame tags, clean title in my name. Motor is stuck (soaking with MMO currently). Trans & tcase shift & steering steers. Sheetmetal needs some love but imo is salvageable.”

Listed as a 1941, this has an early 1946 serial number (14891) (both dash and firewall plates). It also has the top driver’s side indent at the very least. It seems to have the top bows, too. The rear cargo area has been rebuilt.
