Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. oooh … the fiberglass hood shown is the same one I had on my first jeep. There have been only a few made.

(12/26/2008) From the parts list and description, there’s been a great deal of work and money invested in this jeep. This nice looking CJ-2A sports a fiberglass body, tub and fenders. My only concern about this jeep is the way the rollcage appears to connect to the back wheel wells rather than connecting directly to the frame, as should be done with a fiberglass body.

UPDATE 2: I received some images from the seller. This looks like an exact duplicate of the western parkettes. Call the seller if you want a rare fiberglass body.
UPDATE: I’ve exchange some information with the seller. Apparently, there were two Parker brothers. One ran a garage that was known as Parker Jeep (he has passed away). Apparently, the Parker that moved West, moved back to Georgia where the brothers created some additional bodies (he now lives in Gainesville). As best as the seller knows, he has the only jeep that was actually assembled, though not complete, with an Eastern body.

This fiberglass body has an unusually short dash. I can’t tell if it came that way or if it was cut.
“Willy’s CJ2A 1948. Fiberglass tub, all tires 99%, newer wheels, Baja lights, new starter switch and master cylinder, tow bar. The brakes need bleed, battery works but needs replaced, and engine is hard mounted. It also has a transmission leak from somewhere. Engine starts easily. Four wheel drive works. The title says 1949 but the VIN is from the 1948 period so I’m not sure what happened there. No VIN tag. Head 648830 engine P31351. from what I can tell its a F-head engine M-38. Block 646228-L-W10ANI-CR-N2.
Willy’s CJ2A 1946 parts jeep. Dualmatic hubs, hood is restorable, gas tank appears to be good, transmission appears to be ok, wheels are restorable, vin tag in place. VIN 79023, tailgate 6988. The engine was already removed whe I got it. I pulled it apart and it appears to be rebuildable. Head 640161 engine J206101. No title for this jeep. Block 641087-L-W7ANI-CR-N2 4-22.
I have described these to the best of my ability. It has been a while since I wrote all these numbers etc down so I hope I got them all correct. If you have questions please ask. I bought these to restore but due to back problems I had to stop.
I have more pictures if interested. All pictures were taken today. I plan to loosely assemble the spare motor with all misc parts bagged and tagged. All is sold as is and final.”
The Parkette fiberglass body is an extreme rare, well made body. One of the best things about this body is that a CJ-3A windshield will properly fit it, unlike the fiberglass Bobcat body. During the 1970s, a friend of mine bought a Bobcat body, prepped it, and painted it. When he stuck on the windshield he discovered the cowl was too flat to properly seat the windshield to the cowl. To say he was angry was an understatement, because he felt he was mislead by the promises the manufacturer made.
So, after talking with the Parkette body manufacturer and getting assurances that the measurements were more accurate, he bought the body and has been happy about it ever since.
The body shownn below has had it’s rear wheel wells cut a bit. It’s got a good looking rollcage that has been attached to the frame. If this has been available when I was building biscuit, I would have started right here.
(07/24/2011) This might be worth a look. It runs, too. It appears a bit hacked up. I’m very curious about the headlight bezels. Those look unusual. It has a bobcat hood.

“i have 1942 willys jeep that i have owned for 14 yrs it has a fresh rebuilt chev 350 4 bolt main that only has about 5 miles on it. it has a ford t-18 trans jeep dana 20 transfer case and dana 30 front and dana 44 rear with brand new 4 wheel disk brakes . the frame was replaced with a m38 frame and was boxed in for strength witch increased wheel base by 6 inches and leaf springs where upgraded to wrangler springs. the tub was replaced with a old school bobcat racing fiberglass tub it has tilt steering and was set up for a bigger guy since i am 6foot 2 inch and 320lbs it has 8000lbs warn on front and its setup for reciver mount winch on the rear and a swing away rack on the rear that holds shovel and ax and 2 jerry cans and hi lift mount .it has a set of 5 33 12 50 15 wild cat ext that are about 90% tread left and i built on board air compressor that works sweet . and i do have 14 years of receipts too i am asking $4000 o.b.o or willing to do partial trade for motorcycle + cash thanks for looking”
