Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. I will be spending all (and I do mean ALL) day setting up for trick-o-treaters. My mother-law-law likes to put on a big show for the kids, so we decorate on Halloween day then take everything down after they leave. Hopefully it doesn’t rain this year!
A similar version of the photo was sold on eBay in May of 2015.
“1942- Pulled by a quintette of jeeps instead of reindeer, Santa Claus rides a tank at Fort Knox. This was the Christmas greeting from the men of the armored force. Name “Yardbird” is painted on lead jeep. The others look to have names as well but I can’t make them out.”

UPDATE: Two of these sold in 2014. The last seller mentioned the eyes move back and forth with the jeep. This one sold for $14.50 on eBay.

This December 1955 Willys News article shows a jeep exiting a fireplace in a Florida Jeep dealership. It looks too big for Santa to bring down the chimney, but a flat fender would have fit 🙂
Just as a reminder,
Ann, my kids, and I will be spending the week in the Seattle area. I do have some updates scheduled to appear, but they will be limited. The kids leave on the 26th and Ann and I will be back in Pasco by the 27th, so I imagine normal updates will begin at least by Dec. 28th, if not earlier.
