(09/27/2012) Bryan has rebuilt this M-38.

“What you are looking at is an original 1952 Willys M38 military Jeep. The jeep has all matching data tags. The Jeep has been gone through from top to bottom and was a frame off restoration. The engine has been rebuilt and the transmission and transfer case has all new seals. It could use new tires, but they are ok for now. All original 24 volt system. It’s in near perfect shape and is ready for you to hop in and go.

This looks like a good restoration candidate to me.

“I am listing this 1951 Willys M38 Jeep for my uncle. He has owned it over 25 years. It is in running condition as he drives it during fair weather.

It has a solid frame and body. It has not been significantly modified and still has its original character. It has been converted to a 12 volt electrical system. A recent restoration of the gas tank was completed to fix leaks and corrosion. The actual mileage is unknown. Included with the jeep is an operation/maintenance manual and a variety of extra parts including a rear seat frame.

There’s a few non stock items on this, but the engine compartment sure looks clean and good.

“1945 Jeep WWII Ford GPW

2800 miles on complete vehicle rebuild, have all part and machine shop receipts. Has the following modifications: 12 volt conversion, 105 amp alternator, electric fuel pump, T90 civilian transmission, hydraulic clutch, firewall mounted master cylinders with swing pedals, front Warn hubs, and fixed front spring perches.
It is equipped with hand engine crank, Hi-Lift Jack, Ramsey RPE 8.5e winch with wireless remote control, and Whelen Traffic Advisor 8 segment LED flasher. “Demolition derby” 8 ply rated tires. Summer bikini top, painted WWII #319 flat O.D. Green. Comes with car cover, tow bar, and wired for running/brake tow vehicle lights. Clean title, restored California black and white 1945 plate, registered until 2013. Freshly serviced, ready for the trail.”

This has a variety of customizations.  It might have a DJ-3A body.

“This Willys has an older restoration. It was done about 9 years ago. Always has been garaged. The engine and drive train operate like they should tight and smooth. The engine runs like a sewing machine very quite. The trans. operates in all gears like it should. Four wheel drive work perfect. Interior, gauges, lights, heater, wipers, etc. operate perfect. It has the rear seat, and the original hard top. The hard top was never painted. I have the soft doors and i use them for the hard top. This Willys needs nothing to enjoy. I will post a bunch more pictures, so check back. I will answer any questions you may have. Thank you and have fun.”
