About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
“Very well preseved 1947 overland is all original except converted to 12 volt. Has 22000 miles and runs and drives great. There is NO rust holes or swollen seams but it could use a paint job.Brand new military style tires, new mastercylinder and rebuilt starter. By far better than a golf cart because it’s road legal and goes almost 50 mph. It is also gets very good mileage and it’s 4 wheel drive. ”
“1952 Willys CJ3A – frame off restoration over the past couple years…completely new steel body with dura-lined interior…new windshield…new wiring harness…painted frame…new exhaust system…new tires…new gas tank…new gauges…new brakes…new emergency brake cable…and a bunch of other parts. Lots of receipts…no rust of any kind…hasn’t seen rain, mud, or snow since the restoration…still needs a few details like a rear view mirror or seat belts if you want to install them (didn’t come with them). Willys Go-Devil 134ci flat head four engine…3 speed tranny…twin stick transfer case…Warn hubs. Runs well, shifts well, and the 4wd works. Clean MA title in hand. I’ve got too many projects and not enough time or space”
Erroneously listed as a 1946 CJ-2A, this GPW looks in very good condition.
“Classic, 1946 Army Jeep (built by Ford), lovingly restored using genuine parts from the 1940s Original 4 cy. engine. A joy to drive. Still out performs modern 4WDs on steep hills. Family pride and joy, but time to downsize. Looking for a buyer with equal love of classics. Available for viewing by appointment. Complete with shovel, axe and fuel can. Always stored inside, includes fitted dust cover.”
“1948 Willys CJ-2A
* CJ-2A rescued from Arizona desert wrecking yard and returned to stock condition
* found and installed original 4 cylinder Hurricane engine
* rebuilt T-90 transmission
* rebuilt brakes including new wheel cylinders and brakes
* obtained original OEM parts from Willys Overland
* located and added original accessories like manual winch, roll bar, PTO and hitch
* added new Bestop top
* used white paint from 1999 Grand Cherokee to match existing Jeep – paint done to preserve, not restore
* added seat belts for safety
* used non-stock wheels and tires
* body painted to preserve, but no repairs attempted
* runs and drives superbly
* kept in garage by current owners – used for parades and outings
* vehicle has tow bar (original tow bar mates to bumper – uses a 1-7/8” ball), the Jeep could be driven anywhere (slowly)
* (optional: available for $200 is a newer “Blue Ox” tow bar that fits the original stock tow bar bumper mounts, it uses a 2″ ball. )
* historic Washington state license
* no rust problems – Arizona to Washington – paint used to preserve
* all original parts used – excellent full restoration candidate, or enjoy as is.
* mileage unknown
* vehicle sold as is, where is”
This seller has a ‘professional appraisal’ for this MB, which, if like other appraisals I have seen, is likely too high to match reality.
“Collectible Vintage 1945 Willy’s MB Military Jeep for sale.
This is a matching numbers Willy’s MB that has been completely restored from the ground up. It’s also a one family own vehicle since purchased in Stockton CA. at the military surplus sale by my great uncle in 1946.
I’m not posting anymore images because the appraisal has everything you need to know about the Jeep including images.
On July 14th 2011 the Jeep professionally appraised and documented by Auto Appraiser Network, Stockton CA. branch. This appraisal is available upon request for serious buyers.
I am selling this family heirloom by choice. With two teenage boy’s, I need practical, safe and reliable cars for them…My goal is to find a great home for this WW II treasure. Preferably a museum or a real collector since there simply are not many of these original jeeps around.
Enjoy this post, and I sincerely hope this MB Jeep goes to a very good home.”
