It’s drivetrain has been updated, but sure looks solid.
“This 1949 Jeepster is a good driver with a 289 automatic transmission, a mustang drivetrain, baby blue exterior, blue interior, and a white convertible top. Asking $5,000 or best offer. Call Bob at 810-793-6421.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $9250
(09/12/2011) Looks nice. It appears to lack data plates.
“Parade or combat ready.
New tires and seat canvas.
No canvas top
12 volt system
Brake booster
Power take off winch in working order”
This looks pretty solid. One of the commenters believes this might be an early GPW.
“Up for auction is my Jeep Willys MB in very restorable condition. Very solid body and no rust on frame.(Don’t let the pictures confuse you) The only rust on the body is on both sides of the head channels, approx. 4” long. Can be repaired without removing panels. 5 Original Combat rims with all new tubes & tires. Engine turns by hand. Tranny, 4 wheel drive, Hi/Low levers move freely as they should. Vehicle stears nicely and rolls freely.
My opinion is that this is an easily restorable project. The vehicle is 90% there, all original including almost all original E C marked bolts and early zipper style cushions. (see pics) There is the original front bumper and wooden filler. I believe that the body was never taken off the frame. Vehicle has clean transferable title. It is titled as a 1943 Jeep Willys Ut, which I’m not sure is accurit, since I don’t have the original data plates. Vehical originally came from California.
Please examine all pictures closely, so you can see what you’re bidding on and all that is included in this auction. Here is a link to the photo album of 90 pictures:

This looks very nice, though the drain hold near the step looks filled in, so I’d check out the body closely.
“1948 Willys jeep–IMMACULATE condition. New tires, shocks and bikini top. All original under the hood. I’m selling the vehicle because my new house doesn’t have adequate garage space to properly store the vehicle. I have $6000 in the vehicle but am selling it for $5000. This is a firm price so only call if you are serious. My cell is 318-617-4716.”
This appears in good condition. I think this might have been the text from an eBay ad, because it has a ‘buy it now’ reference. I think the third party appraiser has been partying too much given the appraised value of $11,000. The seller will do better if they paint it OD green and put some military tires on it. Those metal (as opposed to aluminum cast) slots in that good of shape are hard to find.
“Collector owned. Collector has Street rods, frame off restored muscle cars, woody’s, Mopar’s, classic trucks, etc and this Willys Jeep is one of the many in his collection.
THIS JEEP WAS JUST APPRAISED AT A VALUE OF $11,000.00 BY A CERTIFIED THIRD PARTY APPRAISER (SEE APPRAISAL BELOW WHICH IS INCLUDED WITH THE SALE OF THE VEHICLE). NOTE: THE COLLECTOR IS A MOTIVATED SELLER. Call me for a buy it now.
A show and award winning full frame off restoration of this Willys Jeep proves it to be one of the nicest restorations around today. OVER $16K INVESTED in the frame off, nut and bolt, restoration. Heavy documents and receipts included.
With the original F Head 4 cylinder motor that has less than 2,000 miles on it, this Jeep has seen very little road time. Car has never seen rain and has only been driven around town. Jeep likes like showroom new.
The interior and floor pan are in excellent condition, matching the dash and gauges the truck reflects the countless man hours installed to get it to the condition that it is today.
This Jeep is ready for shows or a Sunday cruise, with its manual transmission run it down the highway at 65mph or take it to the trails to see what it was meant to do!
This Jeep will come with multiple awards one at local car shows. This is a military Jeep sold Civilian with very low original miles.
In full disclosure, the items that are not 100% show quality as follows:
-A small run in the paint on the passenger side of the hood. See pictures
Everything works and this Jeep is ready to drive anywhere!

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $9000
(05/06/2012) “I have a 1945 Jeep MB for sale. It has everything right with it and it has everything wrong with it. By that I mean that most components show wear, but they are all there in the original form. Most are the original to the Jeep. The engine, frame, body, and trans #’s match and most other components are the original that came with the vehicle, even the horn. Its got a little rust in the common areas, but the body is the one that came from the factory. Of course there are replacement parts but they are high quality reproductions. The tires are virtually new NDT (~100 miles) and the wheels are split rims. The jeep is not “modified” or “modernized”. It is a good example of an original vehicle, perfect for someone who wants to just drive it or totally restore it.
If you are interested, I can send some photos. Price $ 9000.+ depending on response to ad.
Thank you,
Alex”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay.
This looks good.
“For sale is an original 1942 military Willy’s Jeep – see scanned documents
– A little history – This was a Naval Jeep stationed in Rhode Island and was sold to the Town of Warren Rhode Island on October 15th 1953. It was then sold to the first civilian owner. This jeep was purchased from this owner’s family in 2002. Please see the attached original documents of these transactions.
This Jeep was thoroughly restored from the frame up by Russell’s Military Vehicles of Cairo, Georgia, USA, a member of the MVPA. The electrical system has been converted to 12 volt. The Jeep starts and runs great! All of the gears work, and it shifts easily. This jeep is in great condition for driving around or just looking at!”

Needs speedometer cable fixed. Otherwise, sounds solid. The pics are small.
