UPDATE:  **SOLD** Was $5000.

(11/18/2010) This looks like a real good price for a solid restoration.  This might be a good buy.

“The jeep was brought home on a trailer completely taken apart / frame off was completed. Began project around 2001. I cut out all rotted k bracing and sheet metal in the floor, replaced it with new material and mig welded into place. Spot welds reflecting areas of repairs. Jeep has always been in a garage or under a shed out of the weather since I completed it around 2003.Where good salvage parts were available I used these when replacing other older or worn parts. What is M38 tubb, frame, running gears, right fender, hood and grill, m50 antenna mount. Deep water fording kit is nos. I purchased it in the original crate. Top bows are aftermarket and maybe the rear tire mounting bracket. Most of the other parts are good salvage replacement or nos where and when I could find them. At time of original rebuild all brake lines were replaced and master cylinder was honed and rebuilt. I made a home made wiring harness as I was not sure if I would make it a 24 volt system or not and wanted to get it rolling. All fuel lines were replaced as well. It was undercoated with a coating called tool dip which is a black mastic type of undercoating and is military surplus. Fuel tank has been permanently sealed in military aircraft fuel tank sealer, also a mil surplus item. All seals were replaced and where needed suspension parts were replaced with new when original rebuild. Seat cushions were purchased new from Beachwood canvas, includes 3 lowers and the upper rear. Front uppers are original spring type for that original fell and sound. Front canvas seat covers sewn by my grandmother. No covers for rear. Windshield frame and left fender are cj3b. I began installing the rifle rack mounting but it needs to be completed. The brake shoes and brake cylinders replaced only a couple years ago and the drums turned. The brakes will stop stand and hold vehicle in place. Comes equipped with Slectro brand locking front lock in lock out hubs Engine was pulled from a 1952 cj3b. I cannot remember mileage. It is a non smoker. I purchased the jeep locally. Before pulling engine from jeep I removed oil pan and cleaned sludge from oil pan installed new gasket and replaced. Had to remove thermostat as old one was sticking. The engine has operated great since and has never let me down. It has received regular oil changes The most Recent new parts include new NAPA Battery and sporting a new paint job Army Jeep Parts WW 2 semi gloss Korean era Inoperative are wipers , horn wired but not working, fuel gauge wire not reading right, speedometer in tact but no speedometer cable. No Turn signals or wire for them but have military turn signal switch mounted on steering column …..”

1955 CJ-3B Walworth, WI **SOLD**

• CATEGORIES: CJ-3B • TAGS: , This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $4750.

This looks like a nice Jeep.  Apparently, it was formerly owned by a fire department.

In the pictures of the Willys, the paint has those spots on it because we had taken it out of the garage for pictures & we had a light shower that left spots in the dust from sitting inside… This is my own personal Willys (JEEP), it has a 4 cylinder OHV motor, three speed trans., its a 4X4 (four wheel drive), it has always been stored inside when not in use… It has 4 new tires, rebuilt motor, newer top, ran when put away, but has been stored for over 2 years in my garage because I can no longer drive a vehicle with a clutch (see the last picture for the reason I cant drive it anymore)… I have a new 6 volt battery that goes with it, as the one in the Jeep will no longer take a charge from sitting… The Jeep is in very nice shape, its been used, so there are some nicks, dings, scrapes, normal signs of use on the Exterior (nothing too ugly, see pictures), the Interior is in very nice condition for a 55 year old Utility Vehicle… It has been painted a Dark Blue & I am not sure if that was a Factory Color, but it looks okay & covered pretty well, the seats look like they have been recovered & are in good condition… There is very little rust, no holes that we can see, underside looks like it was undercoated MANY years ago… Due to the fact its been sitting for over two (2) years, and I cant do any work to it, like change the battery, drain the old gas & oil, Im leaving that up to the Buyer to do… It has approx. 37,000? miles on the Odometer, much less on the rebuild of the motor… This Willys was previously owned by the Chicago Fire department, and was well maintained… As the Jeep is 55 years old, there is no warranty, and its being sold in as-is condition… Ask Questions, send your Phone Number & I will call you ASAP!!! Thanks for Looking at my Willys…

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was eBay.

The seller is in Utah, but the Jeep is in Idaho.  This looks good.

“1954 Willys Jeep CJ-3B.  This is a clean, good running, original Willys Jeep.  It has the original “Go Devil” engine which has been rebuilt.  It runs and drives well and has been used very little over the past 20 years.  It has excellent tires, the four wheel drive works as it should, and it is rust free.  The jeep is stored in a heated garage and it has a clear title.  It even has the original owner’s manual.  I have super-sized the photos for clear viewing. Please look the photos over closely.  This is a clean, original, 1954 Willy Jeep that could take you on a camping or hunting trip tomorrow. The shovel, tow bar, Jerry can for extra gas, Spare tire, etc. come with the Jeep.  The Jeep is located in Blackfoot, Idaho. I will work with you regarding shipping.”

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $15,500

Technically, the first year of production on civilian jeeps was 1945.  This CJ sounds like it has an interesting history.

“This is the Original Grand Daddy of all Civilian Jeeps- the Willy’s CJ2a is the first model year of the post WWII civilian market run. This is a very rare collector’s item. This is unit # 70007.  She is in excellent shape. This one was kept in a Detroit Show Room for over 25 years prior to being in storage for 10 years. When the dealer passed away his estate sold off all assets and that is how we found her, 5 years ago. We have the original Magazine Adds from Time Magazine, July 15, 1946.”

1947 CJ-3B Eagle, ID **SOLD**

• CATEGORIES: CJ-3B • TAGS: , This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $2500.

I check out this jeep today, though didn’t drive it.  This is an interesting build. It appears to have a boxed-in CJ-5 frame and gas tank, with out-boarded rear springs.  The front springs appear stock.  This has both power brakes and power steering, with the power steering unit nicely installed (in other words, someone knew what they were doing).  The grill has a thin strip added to is so it could be extended forwards about 2 inches, though not one my favorite mods, it was done neatly.  The tines have been removed from the Grille and the radiator is right up against it.

I think the body is actually the front of the one body and the back of another body, which explains the seam in the side.  The hat channels appear in good shape.  The side steps have been cut a little as part of the joining process, however, I think a buyer could put some diamond plating side pieces that will nicely hide all that. The dash sports the single later model CJ-3B speedometer. The body has been lifted about 1-2″ off the frame.

This has a single lever transfercase with the turbo tranny.  It also has a Pontiac(?) center console of some kind.  The top looks to be in good condition.  This has a roll bar, though the tube might be 3″ tubing. The jeep has mud guards on the driver’s side, but are missing them on the passenger side.

With some body work, this would probably be a good runner.  So, 1947 is as accurate as any other year for this build.

This looks like a good price.  If you want me to look at it, let me know.”
