Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. (02/08/2016) This was built as a dunes jeep.
“1954 willys cj3b. has been stretched to 92 inches. primarily built to be used in the sand. but has been licensed and insured for the last 15 years that i have had it. engine started as a mid 60’s ford 428 cu in……..as found in the kr500 shelbly mustangs. i took it down to bare block and built it to 435 inches with, 10.5 comp, aluminum edebrock heads, gear drive, comp solid cam, aluminum roller rockers, edel..broc performer intake etc. ended up with 500 hp. the trans is a built to the hilt c6 auto with b and m holeshot 2400 stall converter. has 5.38 rears front and rear. i originally built this motor for a shelbly close mustang or late 60’s fairlane to run brackets…..but work got in the way and never happened. needless to say this jeep runs on the street and in the sand very well. has msd billet distributor and msd7ml-2 ignition. which you can change rev limiter in seconds by chip change. will twist 7000 rpms…..but i run 6400 chip, car has gobs of torque.

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $9500.
The body was stretched from it’s CJ-6 size, making it not so much rare as it is custom. A neat jeep though. It’s not clear to me, but I think this was a CJ-6 stretched onto a Scrambler chassis?
“One of a kind very rare. Use it like a truck or a Jeep. No smog required. Clean title, pink in hand. Professional Custom stretch CJ8 Scrambler. Factory 304 v8, t18 4 speed stick shift, model 20 t case twin stick, 4.0 low range. Dana44 rear, Detroit locker, 33 spline shafts, rear warn hubs, front Dana 30, ARB air locker, both with 4.88 gears. On board air engine driven compressor. 4″ lift kit, 33” BFG mud tires. Runs and drives excellent. Lots of power. I have full soft top and full soft doors plus half soft top and half doors. It comes with a very nice tow bar and lift jack. Lots of money invested in this jeep. Very easy to tow because all wheels unlock.
This is great jeep to own for jeep enthusiasts. My price is firm. “

“Willys Flat Fender Jeep sand toy project. The Jeep is in the process of being converted to two wheel drive. There is a fuel cell, Holley fuel pump, Hurst Quarter stick shifter, flat aluminum dash with oil & temp gauge, Aftermarket aluminum column, sand/race bucket seats and coil overs in the front. The front end has been pushed forward to stretch the wheel base. Front ladder bar and the rear is leaf. I’m selling the Jeep with a bill of sale. There is no motor trans or tires. I’m not sure of the year!”
