1950 CJ-3A Oroville, CA **SOLD**
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay
This has a couple interesting features. The first is the unusual body extender. The seller says this is a factor original extension (which differs from the Koenig aftermarket extension). I have not encountered a factory body extension. There is no evidence for one at the CJ-3B Page either. The small bars in place to act as supports underneath are different than I have see as well, though could have been replaced.
The second is the rare crankshaft driven PTO which along with the mechanicals for a rear PTO. The body looks pretty solid, per the seller’s description. There is some work to be done, but this might be worth a look.
“Here’s a real nice, basically rust free jeep. Only rust is surface rust that you can remove by running a rag over it. This jeep seems to be a nice find. Has ordered from factory winch & brackets, PTO unit, PTO lever & winch levers, as seen in picture, on floor passenger side, Also, governer & PTO unit for rear of jeep in good shape. Also comes with a factory rear body extension, very rare. Appears to have nothing missing, as pictures will show. Motor is not froze up and turns freely by hand. Carburator, intake manifold & lifter cover are off the engine, but all the bolts and parts are there. I do not know why these items were removed from jeep, due to death of the man that used to own this jeep. Due to there being two manifolds, I am guessing there might have been a miss due to an air leak or gasket leak, and possibly he bought new manifold to solve the problem, again I don’t know. As seen in the pictures, the hat channel under this jeep, is not all rusted out and body has never been removed. Again, very clean, very nice jeep. Call for more info or pictures.”
1958 FC-170 Robertsville, MO eBay
Craig forwarded this. It looks like a nice restoration.
“1958 Jeep FC-170 professionally restored from the frame up after we saved this Jeep from a pasture near Hermann, MO. Engine rebuilt with less than 150 miles.
New paint, rubber, seats and all around lumber on the bed. Runs and drives perfectly!
This was project for my Dad that never ran the Jeep much at all and wants to sell. I can email more pics if needed.”
1942 GPW? Las Vegas, NV **SOLD**
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $4300.
Needs work. It doesn’t have a title.
“My father passed away and we need extra cash for funeral costs. He bought this jeep from an old friend in minnesota and i know he had the title for it, but we can’t find it anywhere.
It will start up and drives just fine for a 1942, although the brakes need to be serviced. I believe there just needs to be brake fluid added as i remember him mentioning this to me.
This is not a ‘slat grille’.
the engine is original as is all the other parts. It needs some work obviously, but these are going for $15,000-20,000 in restored condition.”
1954 M-38A1 Nor-Cal, CA $5500

Year? CJ-3A Marion, NC **SOLD**
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $1900
(09/09/2012) Except the strange contraption on the front bumper this looks pretty stock. Of course, the paint scheme is odd.
“Old Willys Jeep. “L” head, 4-134 “Go Devil” engine rebuilt in the 1960s. Carter WO carb rebuilt last year. Frame is good, drive train is good. Body is solid but rough. New tires. Needs new springs all round. Comes with 4 extra wheels, homemade cloth top, and draw bar to tow it behind your vehicle. This Jeep would make a great restoration project or a hunting Jeep for running the woods.”
1952 M-38 Hermosa Beach, CA eBay
UPDATE: This is back on eBay
(11/10/2012) This looks real nice.
“Up for auction is my 1952 unrestored, all original, M38 Willys Army Jeep. Yes, unrestored, all 100% original rare barn find. I have had this M38 for about 1 1/2 years now. This M38 was hidden under tarps and a carport for years! I can not tell you the history of the last 60 years other than what I have done to it to get her running! There are rebuild/service tags still on the M38 from the late 50s and early 60s! So with that being said, here are the thing I had to do to make sure she was 100% road worthy!
New water pump; (2) New batteries; Radiator checked, pressure tested and new filler neck; gas tank- brand new NOS original I had; brakes- all new shoes, lines, wheel cylinders, hoses, fittings, master cylinder; exhaust- after market new pipes and muffler (it needed a muffler more than anything, but I still have the original exhaust which will be included with the M38); transmission- all new fluid, pressure plate and clutch, gaskets; transfer case- inspected, looks great; both axles- new seals, gaskets, fluid, both in great condition; new knuckle front seals; all new 24v bulbs; one new drivers side headlight; tires- are original (4) Cooper Cross Country military tires (50% tread left still); spare tire- Denman original (New, never seen pavement or dirt); I’m sure I’m leaving something out, but please ask me.
Now, about the motor! After 2 months of working on the above mentioned list, I started the M38 up. It ran good, but not great. Because of the motor sitting so long, it has valve lash. I pulled the motor, went to get a valve job, but instead decided to rebuild the entire motor. So, the motor is entirely rebuilt with brand new everything!! Only 225+/_ miles on the motor since Feb., 2012! It was professionally done and have ALL receipts! Everything on the motor itself has been cleaned, repainted. Carb- rebuilt, new gaskets and cleaned. Distributor- new cap, points”
