This appears to be a pretty stock jeep.

“I’m selling this for an eldery woman. This was her husbands Jeep prior to him passing away. It ran before it was parked, however it will take some work to get it running again. Buyer will have to tow/trailer it away. comes with the plow. being sold as is.
Seats are ripped up some. vehicle is far from perfect cosmeticly, but mechanicaly sound.

“1949 Willy’s Jeep $8000 or best offer. The JEEP is in Centreville, Maryland. Nearly a complete rebuild and in great condition. I am now working on another project and will need to get this out of my garage. The JEEP comes with a new soft convertible top [installed]and has had substantial engine rebuild and other items replaced over the past several months. Is a 6 volt system, but I have the replacement alternator to convert to 12 volts. The jeep comes with an “A” Frame tow bar hitch attached to the front bumper to make towing easier. This might be a good price even though it doesn’t run.  It looks solid.

“My son and I picked this up as a project vehicle about 20 years ago. We put some time into it and had a lot of fun with it. My son has moved away and I don’t have the time to put into keeping it up, not too mention needing the space for new toys.

It has been almost 12 years since it has ran, but it it done run quite well. It has signs of being almost 70 years old, but is still a great little project for someone with the time, money and energy. It has been garaged and out of the elements since the day we we took it home.”

I suspect the pictures don’t do this CJ-5 justice.

“1960’s Jeep Willys CJ-5 in excellent condition for sale. Looks like it just rolled off the production floor. Fully restored to original and hardly driven since, only has 586 miles on the restored engine. Hurricane-4 cylinder engine and 3 speed transmission, including high low and 4 wheel/2 wheel drive levers. Shifts smoothly through all gears and runs great.
– The paint and body is perfect, no chips, scratches, dents, etc. as is the interior.
– New, military style tires including a spare on side.
– Original restored dash
– Lap seat belts on newly covered vinyl seats
– Original canvas top
– Working winch on front.

This looks pretty nice for the price.

“Jeep 1949 Willys with canvas seats and top. Was restored in 1996 and has a 4 cylinder Buick in the place of the L head Jeep engine it was born with. When this was king speed limit was 45 on all Florida roads. It was made for 45 and below and is lots of fun there. Has towbar and can pull trailers easily. In low range you can idle through about anything. This is a dirt road, forest road loving vehicle and has WARN hubs. Everything works fine but needs the brakes adjusted by hand if you enjoy stopping.”
