About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
This might be a good price. There is a tranny problem, but it still runs and drives.
“PLEASE READ CARE FULLY. I DON’T KNOW WHY MY ADD IS SHOWING UP IN CLARKSVILLE CRAIGSLIST. I LIVE IN BOOTHEEL AREA OF MISSOURI AND MY ZIP CODE IS 63827.
This jeep runs and drives good. It has 6 cyl engine (gasoline) with 3 speed manual transmission. It does not have 2nd gear, so it mean it drives from first to 3rd. Has 68xxx miles. Its 4×4 which work great and it will go in any ditch or river and will come out. Every thing is ORIGINAL besides tires and seats. Need tail lights. Has some rust. Clear title. Price is FIRM $1200.”
There were some CJ-2As in the Navy as I understand it. However, I’d want to see some kind of plate or ID that verifies this.
“Fully restored 1947 Willys Jeep. This is a CJ2A Military Jeep (Navy surplus) with the original rebuilt 4 cylinder engine. It has been recently restored but has been stored in a garage for at least 30 years and has never had a rust problem.”

Power takeoff (PTO), tow bar and front weights. Column shift, 2 lower speeds (over & under). 4 cylinders. Runs but not drivable on public roads. All serial numbers match. Service manual. The seller provides a great deal of info, including links to the restoration of both the Bantam trailer and the Willys CJ-2A at the CJ-2A Forum.

The paint is relatively new (last 5 months) but it does have a few surface scratches
The transmission does pop out of second every so often when you let off the gas suddenly
The trans has a small leak (about a dime size puddle after driving)
I do have a rebuilt transmission that comes with the jeep, just haven’t had time to put it in, and never had any problems with it.
E-brake works but doesn’t hold as tight as I would like”
(01/22/2011) A reader named Luke asked me to post his CJ-3B that was originally purchased by the Army. I double checked to make sure this wasn’t a M-606 and the seller assured me that it was a CJ-3B and notes that “The data tag is marked SN 62151, which matches the last 5 digits of the VIN. All data tags are included in the sale.” You can contact the seller through the craigslist ad or contact me and I’ll provide his contact info.
“For your consideration is a 1960 CJ3B, which was purchased under contract from Willys by the Army. It has the data tag, with serial number matching the underhood data tag to confirm this. Early in the life of the jeep, it was modified with two fuel tanks, either by the factory, or by the Army.
The engine, transmission, transfer case, and differentials are all in excellent operational condition. There is no smoke produced by the engine when running, and little to no noise when driving.
The brakes are rebuild and work well, the paint was applied by me. There is some rust, but it’s very typical of older jeeps, and does not harm the jeep. The jeep is currently registered as a Maryland Historic Vehicle.”
“Stock- Willys Jeep runs good , 4×4 works good needs brakes. I do not have the title but one is not hard to get. call 828-525-5375 no emails or texting please”
“Early Willys Jeep 1946 column shift. I would say 99% original!!! All tags match; Dash, Firewall, Bdy and Frame SN: 33037. Toe board and talegate match 24255. The Jeep runs and drives fine for it’s age. I think the engine is original to Jeep when new SN: 33934 holds a little more than 20psi @ idle and about 35-40psi running. It is a column shift but someone cut the shifter @ the floor and put a top shifter in. I have the shifter that was cut and a good one that is included. I have all the linkage and a tranny cover for the floor, but do not have the top plate for the tranny itself. All the wiring is original and most everything works all 6 volt. Coil has been moved to the block but I have the one that mounts on the dash with the key. Very little rust two holes one on eather side in the floor “Wood in hat chanles” that make it rust. Someone has pachedunder the gas tank, tool box solid. I do not have the tail light. All the parts that are never there are!! crank pully guard, splash shield under starter, sheild on frount cross member etc all in place. I am telling you this is one ove the most compleat and original I have ever seen. VERY EASY TO RESTORE. clear Oregon title questions call Dave 541-892-4557″
