About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
“Bought to restore but don’t have time. 1949 CJ3A with full hardtop. Original except the gas tank and front seat has been changed. Do not know condition of engine, have not tried to start yet. All running gear and engine are complete. Original lock out hubs. No title, bill of sale only. Possible trade for tractor, guns or ??????”
“It’s a Korean war era jeep. Runs and drives good with some reparible rust damage. It had a CJ5 or M38A1 overhead valve engine. I had to replace the engine with the original flathead side valve 134L, clean and seal the transmission and transfer case, put original rims on it, reinstall the glass, sand and paint the jeep, put original numbers on hood, replace the electrical and gauges, remake the driver seat frame; clean, sand, seal, and repaint gas tank; rebuild the distributor, new alternator and battery, and rebuilt/converted to 12 volt starter, replaced all fluids, rebuild the carb, new brake master and front brake sheos, repair the emergancy brakes, fix the speedometer gear inside the transfer case rear mount and replace cable with the speedometer guage, and fixed an intake manifold crack. The engine is a 1940s WWII ford GPW jeep engine. It runs perfect with good oil pressure and no smoke. All it needs now to be perfect is a new timing chain. I can hear it raddle a little bit. The seats in the picture does not come with it. An original M38 driver seat frame comes with it instead. thanks, Bryan. cell Phone: 601-862-9873. Email: Bdawgs2007@aol.com.”
