1964 CJ-3B Scotts Valley, Ca $3000

I love Scotts Valley .. I worked out of the old Borland Building for 3 years.  There are few better places in the US to work than the old Borland Building (now the Enterprise Technology Center).  As for the jeep, it's priced a bit high for a non-running CJ with significant rust.

"All original 1964 Willys CJ-3B (original matching serial number engine and chassis with number plate. Original body color was Spruce Green, now is painted a light blue color. Runs fine, but smokes a little (engine should be rebuilt eventually). Needs some minor work to get running again (battery recharged, gas lines and gas tank drained). Hood looks like it has been replaced at some point. Aftermarket heater installed in front passenger side. Rear bench seat is missing. CD ignition system installed."

R10H-1 Overdrive Portland, Or $85

I’m not positive, but I believe this version of the Borg Warner Overdrive can be used by a variety of 50’s and 60’s vehicles including jeeps with the dana 18 transfercase.  Here’s an article that explores the overdrive issue on older jeeps.

“R10H-1 overdrive, Warner Gear Div., believe out of 50’s chevy? Good condition! $85 or trade for willys, cj parts.”

Get out your welder.  This might be a decent deal depending on how good the condition of the body is.

"Runs. 1000 miles on rebuilt engine. 12 volt system. Recent frame crack requires more skill than I have. Great project car. Call Matt for more information (cell) 707-290-1611"

1950 CJ-3A Crystal, Mn eBay

This fiberglass tub flatfender looks pretty good.

“You are looking at a 1950 Willys Jeep. It has a 231 cubic inch Buick V6 which is a quite common conversion since it was used in 60’s vintage Jeeps. It has power steering, a rebuilt M18 Transfer case, rebuilt Dana 25 front differential with new Lockrite locker, rebuilt Dana 44 rear differential with new Lockrite locker, new king pin bearings, new front wheel bearings, new pinion bearing, total of $2,500 work done. Less than 100 miles since work was done. Has exceptionally sturdy fiberglass tub. Original steel hood and windshield. Larger gas tank relocated to rear. New 31″ tires. New rebuilt Holly carb, the leaf springs are new and are longer than stock for a better ride and more articulation.”

My Build — Creating the Hood

• CATEGORIES: Biscuit, Features This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

I've decided to tackle the hood.  Because of the 4.5" extension to the front clip, I've had to decide what to do with the hood.  As I documented in previous posts, I've lengthened the fenders.  Now, instead of trying to lengthen an existing hood, I've decided to create my own fiberglass hood:  Nothing fancy, just a straightforward simple hood.  I'll save a more complex hood for a second form.

Since I had an existing hood that had a good hinge and a good rib, I decided to remove those from the hood and use them on the fiberglass hood.  To do this, I had to drill out the rivets that attached the rib to the hood.  Once drilled out, the rib came right off.  You can see the rib and the hinge below.

James’ newest find …

• CATEGORIES: CJ-2A, Features This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

James found this cj-2a with a m38 body on Craigslist for $2,000.  He pounced on it immediately.  I'm not sure how I missed it during my searches!  Just goes to show I can't find them all.

This is an excellent find, especially since the body is in excellent condition reports James.  It's also one of the best California deals I've seen …

1963 CJ-3B Woodland Park, Co $2200

• CATEGORIES: CJ-3B This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

I think this is a good price.  It looks like it has a warn winch, good tires and a good top.  With the overdrive, you've got $1000 worth of value right there.

1942 GPW Susanville, Ca $2400

• CATEGORIES: GPW (Ford MB) This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

Update:  Price dropped slightly to $2400

I suspect the body on this jeep isn't worth restoring, but it still a running gpw for a reasonable price.

"Must sell, I have a 1942 willys jeep with 16,000 miles on it. I cant confirm the milage as it has a new speedomiter that I havent hooked up, have cable havent done it. It is a 1942 GPW, with the original Go-Devil engine, does not use oil and runs great. New tires, brakes are good (for this old of a jeep), it is an original flat fender the tub has been glassed. The body is very straight and the last paint job it got is marginal. I do not have the time or money to restor it as I had planned. I have driven it around locally since I bought it a year and a half ago and never had any problems at all. I really hate to sell this jeep but have to, my loss is your gain. You may call me at 530-569-0524, I will consider a trade for a jeep Cherokee in good condition."

1946 VEC CJ-2A New Jersey $1000

• CATEGORIES: CJ-2A • TAGS: This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

Here’s an early CJ-2A with the column shift. The seller doesn’t not indicate whether it runs or not, but it looks whole — it looks like it might run.  Obviously, the hood and windshield are a bit rough.

“For sale is a 1946 Willys with early column shift.”

1954 CJ-3B Tacoma, Wa $6500

• CATEGORIES: CJ-3B This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

UPDATE: This was for sale for the same price in July, but the jeep was brown (as you can see in the pic on the right). Now the jeep is gray as seen in the left.

Given that the body is a fiberglass, which is very hard to find for CJ-3Bs (actually impossible is a better word), I'm positive this was produced in the 80s or early 90s.  Looks to be in great shape.

"This 1954 3-B Highhood powered by a Chev 383 stroker V-8 and 4-Speed transmission.  warn 12,000 lb winch.  36×14.50×16.5 swampers. dana 44 front axle. dana 18 transfercase.  Fiberglass Body …."
