Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. Looks like there’s been some time and money put into this rock climbing flatfender.
“58 willys flatfender it has a chevy 350,sm420 tranny, dana 44 axles with 538 gearing and detroit lockers,38″ bogger tires,4wheel disc brakes,8000lb warn winch,propane injection fuel system, custom roll cage,raceing bucket seats…comes with double axle car trailer…6,000 obo call ted @ 253-832-0728 ”
An olds V6? It’s so uncommon, that I had to look up the engine to learn more about it. According to Wikipedia, a version of the Buick 231 or 3800L was used between 1975-1980 in the Starfire GT. The only difference I can see is that the alternator is on the driver’s side rather than the passenger side. I’m not sure where the powersteering pump is located.
“Nice running flat fender Willys CJ2A. Olds V6 w/recent valve job. Headers. Stock transfer and trans. P/S, manual brakes. New battery and alternator. 12 volt conversion. Rebuilt carb, master cyl. All new brakes. Tires are fair, with matching new spare (not shown). High lift jack. Roll cage. Soft top with doors. (not shown). Gas tank relocated under rear deck. Stock tank removed but included. Tow bar. Oversized radiator. Warn winch included but not mounted. (Had been mounted so all holes are there). Old AM/FM/Cassette, No Speakers mounted. Old CB. 408-988-0668 M-F. 8:00-4:30”

This jeep sports the same seats (driver’s seat and rear passenger seat) that I have. I could use those seat covers!
“set up for sand, 2wd dana 44 with 5.13 gears and a spool, ladder bars, 400 small block with 2.05 valve heads, screw in studs, guide plates and port work, roller rockers, aluminum intake, holley carb, th350 thrans with shift kit and 3500 stall, auto meter gauges, has been sitting for a long time and needs carb rebuilt and a few other things to run. $1500 obo or $800 with out motor and trans”
This trail jeep seems reasonably priced.
“Selling my trail rig. It is street legal but I trailer it around. It has a built 360, T15/D20, d44/d30 locked in rear, New custom drivelines, 5in of lift (used to be S.O. w/36’s I lowered it back down) 33″ wildcats with spare. 10klb Warn winch with remote, Cd player, Full roll cage, I have the soft top for it, but it needs a little sewing work done (its all there though). It has all the lighting you will ever need, Engine runs at about 80-90psi oil presure. Oversized radiator means it never overheats on the trail. The is an awsome trail jeep. I just dont have time to use it anymore…. Les T. 253-905-5500”

This is jeep is a collection of various parts. Perhaps the whole is greater than the sum of the parts.
“1950 Willys M-38 Flatfender Jeep, Buick 231 V-6, 400 Turbo auto trans, Dana 20 T/C. Centered Dana 44 rear end. Dana 30 front 3.73 gears. Tub is virtually rust free. On a DJ-5 frame, rides and drives like a new Jeep, just needs you to pick a color and paint it. “

This started out at $3500, but the price has dropped to $2500. There’s definitately some rust on this one.
“Early 60’s foreward control Jeep.Been in a barn for 5 years. Got it started and drove it around. Engine is great, trans and transfer work ok. Brakes need bled but work. Driver and passenger floorboards need repair, but usable.Rear cab corners rusted but small enough to repair with fibreglass i think. Beds rusty and there is surface rust.Great ranch vehicles with very little wwork. Last one I saw for sale on e bay that was similar to this they were asking $3500 and it didn’t run. Asking $3500, but will listen to offers. Wife wants it gone. e mail or call Wes 541-504-7158”

The seller has added some additional images. For $950, I think this is worth a look.
No engine. This is a good restorable jeep. t90 tranny and dana 18 transfercase work. Nice aluminum wheels. throw in a buick v6 and drive it. some hundreds of dollers in newer suspension work. Hate to sell it, but need cash.

Note the indents on the passenger side. This is likely a reproduction body. Seems like a pretty good price.

How about this great looking CJ-3B with only 32K miles. Looks pretty stock.
“I have an original 1962 CJ3B with less than 32,000 miles on it. The paint has been touched up but is still sea foam green. Kelly hardtop side steps, there was some slight rust on the passenger floor brace which has been repaired. I have the original wheels and new 15 inch bias ply tires. This jeep also has the PTO winch installed as well as I have the PTO to Warn overdrive adapter by Herm the OD guy. (no overdrive) Can send photos. $5000 Washington State.”
