This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. This appears to have a variety of updates. It might be a good price.

Looks good. This was listed for $3000 in January, so I’m wondering if it was bought and is now being resold.

I think DUSTY describes this accurately. It looks pretty solid underneath the rust.
“1951 Williy’s Overland 4×4 station wagon with 289 and 3 speed transmission. This vehicle has been barn stored for the last 10 years and his minimal rust and damage. The engine is complete and was running when it was put into storage. This is a great project vehicle with almost all original parts and equipment. 2,500 OBO.”

(04/29/2010) I’m a little surprised the seller doesn’t mention this is a Slat Grille. This doesn’t have the in-dash jockey box.
“The vehicle has been restored. It is very nice, runs great. Registration and Safety just renewed. It has too many improvements to list. Located on Maui in Lahaina. I am willing to take serious offers.”

(03/08/2010) This sports an unusual paint stripe.

(11/18/09) The Vin number would make this produced in 1948. This looks like a nice rebuilt.
“ I am selling my CJ2A. This has been recently restored. Body was removed and repainted. Color is maroon. Black undercoat on the body to help prevent rust. Restoration did not include mechanical. Vehicle had a partial 12V conversion when I got it. It now has all new wiring. All lights work. Added turn signals and brake lights. Horn works. Starter is 12V. It uses a borg warner 6V coil; but could easily be changed to 12V coil. Jeep would be street legal if you add the windshield; the seals for the windshield are included in sale. It didn’t need the motor or drivetrain rebuilt. Although I did paint the engine and rebuild the carburator. New gauges except for speedo.”
