Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. I was in the small town of Payette on Sunday and spotted this FC-150 just inside the fence of the TVM Salvage/Recyling Yard. It’s at the corner of 17th Ave N and N 3rd Street. Here’s their website http://www.tvmrecycling.com/ which shows the main office in Nampa.

“I am looking to trade my original 1954 willys overland M38A1 military jeep straight across for a pull camper or a rv they both have to be in good shape and the rv must run i need one that will sleep atleast 4 to 5 due to i have a big family when i see it and hear the rv run then i will decide if it’s a deal if you have pics please e-mail them to me the jeep runs it has the original hercules 4cylider motor it’s a 24 volt system so it takes 2 batteries and it’s a push button start on the floor it has a 3 speed tranny and instead of an altinator it has a 28 volt generator all it needs is the brakes worked on and the wiring to the brake lights worked on and a tune up it has no rust on the body or frame the only thing wrong with the body is a dent on the front passenger fender it has new seats and a windsheild.”

“Classic 1953 Willys Jeep. C-J3 It has a rebuilt 4cyl motor. I paid 3500.00 for jeep and need to sell for school money, selling for only $2000.00 firm! So far put new brake master cylinder on it, but it still needs new brake shoes. Everything else works great! Please just call me… I don’t really check my email. The paint doesn’t look very good. It’s got a nice old hard top.

(10/08/2009) This is a CJ body on an MB Frame. There is certainly surface rust, but it looks solid.
