UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $2000

(10/24/2010) It looks like this is a bit hacked along the passenger side.  That engine is pretty dusty — I doubt it’s been started in a while.

Updates later today (Thursday)

Due to the snow along I-80 yesterday we decided to travel northward from Omaha to Washington along I-90.  I mentioned to Ann I had never seen Mt. Rushmore and she said that I have to see it.  So, this morning I will be ‘investigating’ the Rapid City, South Dakota, area for any jeeps.  I will push my investigation as far south as Mt. Rushmore and Crazy Horse, so dedicated I am.  Later today when we get back on the road for the remaining 14 hour drive, I will report on my success (or failure).

James’ 1950 CJ-3A Project

Seventeen year old James emailed me the other day asking if I’d like to stop by and see his jeep while I was in Denver.  Of course, my answer was yes, so we arranged a time to visit yesterday.

After meeting him and his father, I learned that this was James’ first vehicle project.  After deciding he wanted an old flat fender, he looked around some before he found a great deal on a 1950 CJ-3A with an overdrive, a sound body and frame, and a running engine.  Unfortunately, after buying the jeep, he quickly discovered his 6’8″ body was a little lanky for a flattie.  Since he is a little big for it, his goal is to give it a light restoration, get it running good, and then sell it.  It looks oike a great father/son project and I wish them the best of luck with it!  So, expect to see this CJ-3A available on eWillys at some future point. Thanks goes to James for emailing me and sharing his jeep.

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $4000.

Engine hasn’t bee run in years.

“1955 Willys Jeep CJ3B, last brought out of the garage in 1997. Engine turns over, but I haven’t tried to start it. Upgrades – 12 volt system with alternator, newer (1995-no rust) steel body, soft top (no rips, clear windows) and hydraulic plow. Original — everything else! including F134 Hurricane Engine and entire drivetrain. 9000 original miles, clean NJ title. Passed NJ state inspection (standard, not historic) in 1997 and driven a few times that summer and a couple of times that winter to plow, otherwise this beautiful and complete jeep has been standing idle, and garaged! Purchased in 1996 from a guy who used it to plow his gas station to be able to take customers as it snowed. This is a barn find in NJ, ready to be driven or restored! $4000 firm.”

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $7500.

Looks nice.

“This “Civilian Jeep” was restored in 1987 into this classic driver. It is all original except the charging system which was converted from a 6v to a 12v. This 4WD has been loved by one owner since 1960 and has PTO (power take off). Must see to appreciate this great driver. Offering a steal at $7500 but may be willing to negotiate or trade with reasonable circumstances. Give me a call with any questions or to take a look.”
