I had a wonderful day with my kids today. Tomorrow brings a couple meetings and then a drive east as fast as possible in a hopeful attempt to outrun the snow. So, expect updates tomorrow evening, connectivity premitting.
Neither rain, snow, sleet or hail will stop us as Ann and I begin our trek across the US with Long Island and the retrieval of some paintings for my parents as our ultimate goal. Ok, maybe the snow and sleet will slow us a bit, so I hope to see none of either! On Saturday we arrived in Salt Lake for a quick visit with my kids. We begin the trek west on Monday.
As we passed through Idaho on our way to Salt Lake on Saturday we made a quick stop at Josh’s for my first ever chance to drive a GPA! Even though it doesn’t go anywhere just yet, it was still fun to pretend. Josh has plenty of work left to restore this rare vehicle and continues a search for parts. It doesn’t run at the moment. It does have a rear PTO.
“1947 cj2a farm jeep with pto. this jeep is all origanal. i got it from the origanal owner who bought it brand new and it stayed on the same farm until i bought it. i haven’t had it running, but the engine turns and fires. the tires are in great shape. this is the last decent jeep i have. i’ve sold everyything else that was decent and wanted very badly to keep this one. i do have another one available as parts. call 231 651 9918 for more info.”

“Rare Panel version,however there are 4 small window holes that were cut into the sides other than that the body is quite straight with whats left of the original paint.Two wheel drive axles.No motor or tranny.Patches on drivers and passenger floor.Extra driver and passenger doors and extra hood and various other parts including a nice set of guages.You need to look at it to balance the pros and cons.”

This is a custom truck, far from stock.
It has a 327 small block chevy
Power steering,
Power brakes (new master cylinder),
TH400, NP 205 Transfercase,
Ford 9″ rear end and yes its the 31 spline, I just re-did the rear end,
The front end is a dana 44, probably from a blazer or wagoneer, 410 gears turning 35 12.5 BFJ Mud Terrains lots of meat left, on pro comp alloy wheels.
Custom bumpers with tow shackles and receiver
Dual Fuel cells in the bed with in dash switch
I have a bunch of extra parts that will go with the truck, extra hubs, starter, alternator, rear view mirror, sun visor, belts, gaskets, spare tire carrier, running boards, speedo guages, new wiring kit, etc.
I just had the carb rebuilt and the fuel tanks drained and its running like a champ. Been driving it back and forth from work, its fun! The truck has some rust, dents, leaks, holes, and anything you can think of. If you’d like some pictures I’ll be more than happy to let you take them, in other words if you don’t have the time to look at it I don’t have the time either. Its parked outside my house in Ridgefield, you can come over and check it out anytime.
Will consider trades for a 4×4 quad 500 or greater, 40 hp outboard jet, or dingy/tender with outboard”
