This appears solid.

“THIS IS MY 1947 CJ2A THAT HAS BEEN REFURBISHED IN MANY WAYS, NEW PARTS ARE ALL NEW BRAKE LINES, SHOES, MASTER CYLINDER, NEW BATTERY, NEW GAS LINES, FILTERS, NEW OIL LINES, NEW GAS TANK, ALL NEW MILITARY TIRES WITH TUBES AND HOLDER WITH UNDER 75 MILES ON THEM, INCLUDING SPARE….PROBABLY SOME OTHER THINGS I DID BUT I DO NOT REMEMBER….JEEP IS MADE TO LOOK LIKE A MILITARY JEEP BUT IS NOT AN ACTUAL MILITARY JEEP, IT IS ACTUALLY A CJ2A, BUT HAS BEEN USED IN PARADES AND MOST OF THE VETERANS DID NOT EVEN KNOW IT WAS NOT A REAL MILITARY JEEP.  THE MACHINE GUN AND M1 RIFLE ARE NOT INCLUDED…JEEP RUNS AND STARTS GREAT EVEN IN VERY COLD WEATHER….. SAME ORIGINAL 6 VOLT SYSTEM…..GREAT VEHICLE FOR PARADES FOR JUST MESSING AROUND…..THE ENGINE PURRS AND NO NOISES OR SMOKE….VEHICLE HAS A CLEAN SOUTH CAROLINA TITLE.  IT IS A REAL EYE CATCHER WHEN TAKEN DOWN THE ROAD……  ”

(11/02/2011) Lacks steering.

“48 Willys Jeep, excellent start to a great Jeep project. Smallblock Ford V-8, Ford full syncro 3 spd transmission, twin stick transfer case. Tub is very good, has a very nice hardtop complete with doors ( missing left side rear glass but it is flat and easily cut at glass shop) Jeep will run and move but as I said it IS A PROJECT. There is no steering gear or column ( has saginaw steering gear mount in place already) The brakes will need gone through top to bottom ( pedal is stuck ) I have a battery to hear it run but it is not included. Engine / transmission, tub and top are worth the asking price, this Jeep has tons of potential. Bring cash and drive onto your trailer. $1500.00 cash only. ”

Excellent condition for its age, truck spent most of its life in Arkansas, now  located in Oelwein, IA.
Mileage reads: 66224

HAS:
Its complete and runs
All new steel floor (A1 job)
No rust on frame
Body is excellent
Motor runs strong
New gas tank
Great seats (one recently re-upholstered)
New rebuilt starter
Tires approximately 60-70%

Needs:
Steering wanders a bit, has play in steering wheel
Carburetor needs adjustment, runs but needs adjustments”

“1962 Willys M170 Ambulance with title. This is one of approx. 1500 examples ever produced, they are VERY rare. THE SOFT TOP SHOWN IN PICTURES IS NOT INCLUDED.

This is a VERY ROUGH Project. I bought thinking I’d make a rat rod Jeep, but too many other projects so it’s time to move on. Currently it has a 4.3 engine, transmission, transfer case from Chevy S10 blazer mocked into position. I have the complete wiring harness. It has an Art Morrison 9″ rear differential housing and shafts, but no 3rd member. It has a Jeep D30 front axle sitting underneath. No steering hooked up, no other drivetrain pieces. This thing is rusty, patched together, bondo smeared all over, etc. It’s VERY ROUGH. But, on the good side, it does included CLEAR WASHINGTON STATE TITLE AND COLLECTOR VEHICLE PLATES. I have lots of other misc. parts, radiator, steering column, etc. Otherwise, what’s shown is pretty much what you get, EXCEPT SOFT TOP.”

Good road tires for a CJ-5?

Jim plans to purchase a CJ-5 and drive it a few thousand miles home.  He asked me what tires/rims I would recommend for driving on the road, because the jeep currently has NDT tires. I gave him some suggestions, however my research has been more focused on 10″ rims and tires.  Anyone have some suggestions for tires they like?  He might also be interested in selling the NDT tires and rims that are on it, which appear in good shape.
