1949 CJ-2A Hillsboro, OR **SOLD**

• CATEGORIES: CJ-2A • TAGS: , This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $5400

“Here is the story this Willys lived it first 62 years in Eastern Oregon. I bought it about one year ago for a hunting and pleasure rig. It was repainted about four years ago and had a pretty complete restoration at that time. Still has original Flathead 4cylinder, selectro hubs, 12volt system. rest of drivetrain is stock with 16″ wheels.

Since I have had rig I installed the Superlift 1″ soft ride springs, the later style shackles, superlift shocks, I had R&P 4X4 install updated CJ5 steering system and front 11″ Drum brakes.. This vehicle runs and drives awesome for being 63 years old.

Is this a perfect show quailty rig no. With that being said you would have to look long and hard to find a willys of this vintage in this kind of shape.
The only negative thing I can say is the original CJ2A Window was modified for single plate of glass, it works just not as nice as a cj3a window frame, also the wiper motor needs wired.

I have had several jeep and willys experts look at this rig and it does appear to be rust free. I’m selling only because I feel guilty about using a rig this nice for hunting and would hate to cause any damage to it ”

1946 CJ-2A Atlantic Beach, NC $1000

• CATEGORIES: CJ-2A This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

This runs and drives.

“Well, I’ve changed direction again and need to sell the 2a. I thought about using it for parts, selling what I could and scrapping the rest. But, after I got her started, and looking her over, I realized that this ’46 was pretty original and unmolested. She’s too good to part out, and would make a good restoration project if one wanted to start cheap. Has clean title, matching frame and vin numbers. Hood straight, fenders good, grill good, surface rust on frame, but sound. In the pictures, you’ll see some 24 volt parts that come with it. Youtube video of motor running and jeep moving are at

http://www.youtube.com/user/nedmcclung I think. I just want what I’ve got in her, so it’s yours for $1000 cash. Located in Atlantic Beach, NC. My phone is 252-three, four, nine-twothreefoureight for questions.”

Paul gets some early shots of Crazy Ralphie’s GPA

• CATEGORIES: Builds, Features, GPA (SEEP) This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

UPDATE:  I’m reposting this February 2010 post in honor of the SEEP that appears in my next book.  Ann and I spent Wednesday on a journey to review some of the places I will mention in the book.  I’ll report on our research tomorrow.

Apparently, Paul cornered Ralphie in his garage today and refused to leave until he got some pics for us.  Ralphie’s GPA is well on its way to being a great looking rebuild.  Thanks to Paul and Ralphie!

Paul writes, “Crazy Ralphie’s garage suffers from the usual garage problems, no matter how big your garage is it still isn’t big enough to hold all the tools and projects you want to stuff inside so the work area becomes a bit cramped.  I’ll be able to get better pictures this summer when things can be moved outside but for now these pictures will have to due.  The poor little GPA is sandwiched next to the chassis of a 1934 Ford four door sedan which is tight against a 1956 Caddy convertible undergoing restoration and every flat surface becomes a parts storage shelf until the pile becomes a pyramid towering towards the ceiling.

Crazy Ralphie is in the background of a couple of photos working on the body of the 34 Ford but he’s locating missing parts and doing some work on the GPA in the meantime.

The UPS guy just delivered my new Buick 225 V 6 radiator and I didn’t anticipate it’s arrival until the end of the month so it looks like I’ll have something to work on tomorrow what with building a mount and fabricating brace rod/hood prop combinations.  I got my taxes done and Uncle owes me money, it just doesn’t seem right to put that money into a savings account when I could buy Jeep parts instead so I was on the phone ordering and the tax return has been killed.”
