The Panther WaterCar $139,000 or $172,000

• CATEGORIES: Features, Unusual This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

UPDATE: I originally featured the Panther WaterCar in 2013. It was priced at $135k at the time. Mike spotted a video of it on Facebook yesterday, so I took another look at the website. The WaterCar is now priced at $139,000 for the basic vehicle or $172,000 for the custom version. Check out the video here.  The company also recently introduced a Fire Rescue Vehicle: https://www.watercar.com/fire-rescue

watercar-fire-rescue-vehicle

According to the website, “Builders of The Most Fun Vehicle on the Planet! In 1999, WaterCar started as a personal challenge to build the world’s fastest amphibious vehicle. Our early WaterCars were purpose-built vehicles, to be very fast on both land and water. After January, 2010, when WaterCar established the Guinness amphibious speed record with our Python model, our attention turned to reliability and we began designing a vehicle to offer to the public. Fourteen years, countless successes and failures, 27 patents and untold labor hours later, our personal challenge has been achieved.

The Panther, our first WaterCar to be offered to the public, was created by our WaterCar team which is made up of top designers and technicians from around the world.

Throughout the Panther’s development, the commitment was to engineer a versatile amphibious vehicle built with proven off-the-shelf components that are recognizable throughout the automotive and marine industry. Our WaterCar team has achieved that goal.”

Automobile Magazine Article

• CATEGORIES: CJ-2A, CJ-3A This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

An ad for a 1946 CJ-2A referenced the following article from the July issue of Automobile Magazine. I expect this will fill a variety of CJ-2A sellers with visions of value where there might not be any. They assign a value of $12,500 to $20,000 for a restored CJ-2A and $12,000 to $18,000 for a restored CJ-3A. What they neglect to mention is how difficult it is to find a properly restored 2A or 3A.

Triang Toy Windup Jeep on eBay

• CATEGORIES: Features, toys This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

This doesn’t have it’s key.

“Vintage Tinplate Military Jeep. Measures approx. 3″ long.
Has a clockwork motor (but no key is present!). I tried testing it with one of my keys and the motor does need a bit of a service as it’s not running properly.
Overall in good vintage condition with some light signs of age/play related wear.”

1945 GPW Danville, CA **SOLD**

• CATEGORIES: GPW (Ford MB) • TAGS: , This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $8000.

This appears solid.

“This jeep is a survivor, it has been garaged for the past 25 years and rarely driven. It is the perfect project for a full restoration, or drive it like it is. This jeep is 95 percent original and is currently registered in California. Shipping in the US only. Rebuilt engine 300 miles ago, new battery, carburetor, new fuel tank, hoses, wire harness, exhaust and muffler. The rear deck has been replaced and welded in. Has rear seat without mount. Rear seat and drivers seat done in canvas. Tires are fair and has spare. Starts and drives well. Two gauges are after market. All lights work except spot not wired. These are rare and would be great for any military collector. Price is firm. Thanks”

1947 CJ-2A Durango, Co For Trade

• CATEGORIES: CJ-2A • TAGS: This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

This appears solid and pretty stock.

“947 Jeep Willys with a snow plow. Runs good, drives good, snow plow works well. Snow plow powered by Chrysler power steering pump. Jeep has new plugs, wires, cap, rotor button, condenser, and points. Jeep also has new fuel pump. Jeep has new 6 volt battery but will not hold a charge. The top on the Jeep was replaced 4 years ago.(some seams are split overall top in fair condition). This Jeep is mechanically solid, I have plowed snow for the last 3 years with this Jeep at my home and for others in the neighborhood. The process to obtain a title has been initiated through the Colorado DMV. The title is clear. For this process to continue in Colorado, all lights have to be operational on the vehicle. The wiring is 60+ years old. In my opinion, it needs a complete new wiring harness. (Complete new wiring harness available at Kaiser Jeep Willys for $314). In addition to the Jeep, I also have 2 brand-new Firestone 6X16 military tread tires and 2 brand-new sets of military-issued tire chains. Snow plow has recently been painted and upgraded to all quick-release pins and all brand-new hydraulic hoses.
