Can’t quite figure out how or why the rear part of the tub was redone. Notice the missing smooth corners. And is linex easy to remove?
I don’t think linex would be easy to remove, but have never tried to remove it. I imagine the rear corner was rusty, but hard to tell for sure from the pics.
The linex if the same as the polyurethane bed liner reminds me of the PRC sealant used on airplanes:
