1952 M-38 Detroit, MI $9000

• CATEGORIES: M-38 • TAGS: This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

This looks like a good restoration project, but the engine is stuck.

“1952 Jeep M38 This is one of the nicest M38’s to come along in a long time. NO RUST! Solid all the way around except for the large transmission cover panel. I have included a different one to replace it.
If you have ever wanted an easy project that would result in a top of the line restoration, don’t wait.
Very complete, only missing a few minor cosmetic items. The engine is stuck from sitting. All the 24V electrics are intact. This jeep originally had the arctic heater package on it which is why the cowl vent panel is not on the windshield.

1947 CJ-2A Lefty Wilma Rudolph, TN **SOLD**

• CATEGORIES: CJ-2A • TAGS: , , This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $6999

(10/06/2013) This looks nice. I wonder if this was originally a lefty? If so it’s a ’48.

“For sale is a 1947 Willys CJ-2A. It was completely restored about 8 years ago. Complete frame up restoration including an engine rebuild. Nearly everything is original. Body had floors replaced and frame had some reinforcing. The whole jeep is painted in POR15 products–the body is painted in their 2 part epoxy. Electrical was converted to 12 volt. Has original glass fuel pump and oil filter. Head is actually stamped Ford from an earlier military jeep. Tires are in excellent shape. As with any vehicle so old, there are some little things that can always be done.”

1943 MB Rio Rico, AZ **SOLD**

• CATEGORIES: MB This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

UPDATE: **SOLD**

(10/21/2013) Joe spotted this MB. It has potential.

“This jeep is pretty much stock. It has an AZ title and current plates. It has been in the family from the original sale date… There is a stamp on the transmission that says 1943, from what I understand this could actually be a 1943 that was titled for sale in 1946, but I am not sure on that… Some of the things that have been repaired include: Clutch, pressure plate and throwout bearing.. New brakes and lines. New fuel lines and a new gas tank.. New 6 volt battery. The jeep runs good. It starts right and the engine is strong. It comes with a chrome roll bar and a Willys MB Maintenance Manual 1942 which covers this Jeep. We have a number of receipts from parts and work done over the years… plus some extra parts.”

Jeep-Borne Beer Keg

• CATEGORIES: Features • TAGS: This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

The Princeton graduating class of 1932 used a jeep to celebrate their 15th reunion (in 1947) by hauling a keg in it. This photo was published in the June 16, 1947, issue of Life Magazine (page 60).

The related article takes an in-depth look at the class of ’32 by interviewing and publishing their incomes, job changes, marital status and more. It’s actually a pretty interesting article. I was surprised to see that by 1947 31% of marriages ended in divorce. One of the graduates of ’32 was Jimmy Stewart. Do you suppose he’s somewhere in the back of that jeep?
