David Silberman just picked up this two-owner CJ-5 w/ a Tuxedo Park III package. Looks like a great project. The color is Indian Ceramic, consistent with one of the Tuxedo Park options from 1961-1963. A post from 2012 post shows how this might have looked.
He notes:
1962 Tuxedo Park Mark III.
August, 1962, as per VIN.
Original paint, original tires, original radiator hoses and most clamps.
Chrome hood hinges, windshield stops. Even the tailgate chains are chrome.
The steps were chrome, but mostly gone by now.
The interesting part is the mileage. 21,000 miles. The owner got it from his uncle 50 years ago.
He added the hardtop and plow, but it wasn’t on the road since 1986.
Seats are black with “pink” sides, same as
the wheel well pads.
Here’s the photos David sent:
UPDATE II: Quentin shared some pics of a Sterling Trailer. See the pics below.
Update Posted May 7, 2015: Check out Richard’s Sterling Trailer here.
Original Post from 2004:: Most of us are familiar with the post WWII trailers like the Bantam & Spen trailers, but one most people don’t know about is the Sterling trailer built in Canada by the Sterling Machine and Manufacturing Company. I *think* the company was located in Hobart, Ontario on the isthmus between Georgian Bay to the north and Simcoe Lake to the south.
Only a handful of these trailers have been photographed. The topic came to my attention thanks to Glenn, who spotted a Kijiji ad in a CJ-2A Page thread for the trailer. It appears to be the 2nd production model made. Here’s the info:
Quentins Pics shared in Jan 2025:
Vintage 1947 Willys Jeep trailer listed in 2014 (started this thread):
“This is a unique item if you are into old Jeeps. It is serial number 2!!! It was built in 1947 by Sterling Machine in Owen Sound, Ontario for Willys Jeep. The serial number plate is original untouched and shows it as number 2.
A little research into Sterling is they produced Civilian and civil service equipment for Jeep, and much of their business was concentrated on fire service. It appears this trailer may have originally been painted red, so it may have been sold as fire dept. equipment. “

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay
This 1991 booklet includes information on the Willys Farm Jeep. Not sure whether they mean the sparse CJ-3A version or something else. But, if you like jeeps and tractors, this might be for you.

Needs a little work, but looks in good shape.
“Willys is missing surrey top canvas, but I have material and complete frame is attached. Restored in 1997 but has minor surface rust in various areas. Carbeurator on vehicle is not the original and linkage is not complete for rebuilt carb. I have original carb in box.Have not found the original oil bath air cleaner, but might still have it. Fuel filter bowl is not functional and is not connected. Might need distributor, is running rough. Less than 19000 original miles with good compression.Tires have less than 1000 miles on them.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay.
This truck looks good.
The build is 8 years old and was done by Cascade four Wheel Drive in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The truck has been in dry storage for 5 years with maintainence performed periodically. The paint is starting to show some age and has light imperfections due to storage and age . DuPont chroma base and clear were used. Shows well and still looks good. #1 being poor and #10 being perfect, I would rate it a # 8.
The truck drives down the road perfect and would drive it anywhere. Has a crack in passenger side vent window. has very small 2″ tear on passenger side door panel $25 fix. All glass is new. Power windows, door poppers are installed and worked when put in storage. Now they do not. probably loose wire or something very minor. Vintage air installed, but not hooked up. All gages and instruments work including wipers and directionals. All components of build have less than 2000 miles including crate motor and transmission.
This has the Jeepster Commando front clip mod.
“1960 Willys jeep CJ5 short fender, jeepster front clip, Chevy 350, SIM 420 trans, 4 speed, both rebuilt about 2000 miles ago, p/s, p/b, updated brakes, front Dana 27 power lock, rear Dana 44 Detroit locker, custom chrome alloy flanged rear axles, 4:88 gears, warren winch, line lock,Dana 18 T case big pin, new 32″ BFG tires, full top and doors, bikini top and half doors, plow attachment, custom 1/2 z dash, too much to list must see! “
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $2000.
Dan’s got this FC for sale.
“1958 Willys Jeep FC Forward Control 170 Hackney utility bed truck
Complete COE cab over engine 4×4 truck. I was told it ran but can not verify that. I’ve never tried to start it. It just one of those projects I’ll never get to so time to sell. I bought it mainly for the Utility bed. The bed is made by Hackney. The bed is not factory to this truck.
226 engine with T90 3 speed, lockouts on the front. Normal FC rust. Corners and under the windshield.
This truck does need everything and being sold in AS IS condition. Lots of good parts or restore.
If this ad is up it’s still for sale. If you ask is it still for sale I will not respond. Too many scammers.”
