(02/05/2015) The engine runs, but jeep needs work.
“Good running jeep,4WD works, original Go-devil flathead 4,has good power, probably been rebuilt but have no papers to prove it,needs tires, and some tlc,tub has some minor rust through but not bad for an almost 70 year old jeep.I’d prefer to sell but would entertain a trade for a good diesel compact tractor or a pre 49 truck,or maybe a nice vintage boat, just ask the worst I can say is no.”
An article in the July 13, 1951, issue of the Toledo Blade reported on three kids who climbed the fence at Willys Overland and commandeered some jeeps.
Has a few updates.
“Selling a 1944 Ford Jeep with a Model T pickup bed trailer. We don’t use it anymore and it’s only taking up space. It runs just fine though at some point it’ll need a new master brake cylinder and radiator. We also put in seat belts to make it street legal. It comes with a removable top. Need to sell quickly as wife is running out of patience.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $2500

“Don’t have the time and money to keep investing into project. Also moving and don’t want the hassle of moving it. I do have a title for the Jeep.
Three speed manual transmission with reverse. 4×4 works. Top speed of about 45-50. Has a rebuilt transmission, transfer case, clutch, carburetor and new radiator. Needs new battery and generator or great time to upgrade to 12V system. Also could use new brakes in the near future. After a jump, it runs great! Has a PTO, not currently installed, Speedometer, temp and volt gauges work, others don’t. Also has a stereo/CD player with auxiliary 12V battery that needs to be charged via a trickle charger or external charge method. BF Goodrich Mud Terrain tires with after market black rims. Also have original tires and rims.”
